The Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun (FUHSI), has reached a momentous landmark in its journey toward academic excellence. We are thrilled to formally announce that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted Full Accreditation to all nine undergraduate programmes presented during the September 2025 accreditation exercise.

This perfect pass rate is a testament to the university’s unwavering commitment to maintaining high pedagogical standards, investing in state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure, and fostering a rigorous clinical learning environment.

The Accredited Programmes

The following nine programmes have been thoroughly vetted and certified by the NUC, ensuring they meet the stringent national requirements for professional health and science education:

MBBS (Medicine and Surgery)

Nursing Science

Medical Laboratory Science

Audiology

Pharmacology

Nutrition and Dietetics

Information Technology and Health (ITH)

Microbiology

Biochemistry

This certification provides our students and stakeholders with the absolute confidence that a FUHSI degree is backed by national recognition and adheres to the highest quality assurance frameworks in Nigeria.

A Strategic Step Toward Full Maturity

While FUHSI currently offers 13 undergraduate programmes, the NUC’s scheduling required only nine to be evaluated during the 2025 cycle. Achieving a 100% success rate for this initial cohort sets a powerful precedent for the institution.

The remaining four programmes are currently undergoing continuous internal quality reviews as they prepare for their scheduled NUC accreditation in September 2026. Based on the momentum of this recent success, the university is well-positioned to maintain its streak of excellence.

Words from the Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor extends his deepest and most sincere appreciation to the University Governing Council, the Management team, and the entire University Community. This achievement was not the result of chance; it was the product of:

Sacrifice: The late nights and tireless efforts of academic and non-academic staff.

Support: The collaborative spirit of the Ila-Orangun host community and government partners.

Vision: A collective dedication to building a world-class health sciences institution from the ground up.

”This 100% pass rate is a victory for every member of the FUHSI family. It validates our hard work and confirms that we are on the right path to becoming a leading hub for healthcare training in Africa.”

Congratulations to All!

To our students, who can now pursue their clinical and scientific goals with the assurance of full accreditation, and to the staff who made it possible: Congratulations! This is a proud moment in the history of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun.

Let us continue to strive for excellence as we look forward to the 2026 exercise with renewed vigor and optimism.
