NIGERIA POLICE ACADEMY, WUDIL SECURES NUC APPROVAL FOR 10 NEW POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence ten new postgraduate programmes, marking another major milestone in the institution’s academic development.

The approval followed a successful resource verification exercise conducted by the NUC, during which the Academy’s facilities, academic resources, and manpower were assessed and found suitable for the new programmes.

Approved Postgraduate Programmes

The newly approved programmes, which will run on a full-time basis, include:

1. Master’s in Crime Management, Prevention and Control (MCM)
2. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Crime Management, Prevention and Control
3. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Peace and Conflict Studies
4. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Police Studies
5. MBA and M.Sc. in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship
6. PGD and M.Sc. in Management Studies
7. PGD and M.Sc. in Law
8. PGD and M.Sc. in Biochemistry
9. PGD and M.Sc. in Financial Economics
10. PGD and M.Sc. in Forensic DNA

Expanding Academic Opportunities

The approval is expected to strengthen the Academy’s capacity to provide advanced education and research opportunities in security, law, science, management, and forensic studies.

While the institution is renowned for training police officers, the new postgraduate programmes will also be open to personnel from other security and intelligence agencies as well as qualified members of the general public.
