JAMB Registrar Oloyede to Monitor CBT Centres During UTME Registration

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Is-haq Oloyede, has announced plans to closely monitor all accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres involved in the registration of candidates for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to the board, the monitoring exercise is aimed at ensuring strict compliance with JAMB’s registration guidelines, preventing sharp practices, and safeguarding the integrity of candidates’ data during the registration process.

As part of the directive, all CBT centres have been instructed to submit and comply with monitoring requirements through the JAMB centres portal. The move will enable real-time oversight of registration activities, including biometric capture and biodata submission, directly from JAMB’s central system.

JAMB warned that any CBT centre found engaging in irregular practices such as double registration, unauthorized data alteration, or improper biometric capture will face sanctions, which may include suspension, delisting, or invalidation of registrations carried out at such centres.

The board reiterated that only JAMB-accredited CBT centres are permitted to conduct UTME registration, advising candidates to avoid patronizing unauthorized centres to prevent complications that could jeopardize their examination chances.

This latest move by JAMB under Oloyede’s leadership underscores the board’s commitment to transparent, credible, and fraud-free UTME registration, especially ahead of the 2026 examination cycle.

Candidates and CBT operators have been urged to strictly adhere to official guidelines to ensure a smooth and hitch-free registration process nationwide.
