The management of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), Ikot Akpaden, has announced the commencement of online applications for the 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) Screening Exercise.

The screening exercise is open to qualified candidates seeking admission into the University’s undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

According to the University, only candidates who selected Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) as their first-choice institution and obtained a minimum UTME score of 150 are eligible to apply.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

The screening exercise is open to 2026 UTME candidates who:

  • Chose Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) as their first-choice institution.
  • Scored 150 and above in the 2026 UTME.
  • Meet the other admission requirements for their chosen programme.

The University is also inviting eligible Direct Entry (DE) candidates to participate in the screening exercise.

REGISTRATION PERIOD

Online registration for the 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening will commence on:

Wednesday, 19th August 2026

and close on:

Tuesday, 22nd September 2026.

Candidates are strongly advised to complete their registration before the deadline, as those who fail to register within the stipulated period will not be considered for admission into the University.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE

Candidates are expected to have the following documents available:

  1. 2026 UTME Result Slip
  2. 2026 DE Registration Slip — for Direct Entry candidates only
  3. HND, ND, NCE, A-Level certificate or equivalent qualification — for Direct Entry candidates only
  4. Birth Certificate
  5. Certificate of Origin
  6. AKSU Post-UTME/DE Registration Confirmation Slip (2026)

Candidates should ensure that the information contained in their documents is accurate and verifiable.

HOW TO APPLY FOR AKSU POST-UTME

Interested candidates are required to complete their registration online by following the steps below:

  1. Visit the official AKSU website at www.aksu.edu.ng/app.
  2. Click on “START NOW.”
  3. Click on “Enroll.”
  4. Select “PUTME.”
  5. Enter your JAMB Registration Number.
  6. Click the arrow below to Verify and Continue.
  7. Proceed to make a payment of ₦12,000 as the registration fee, excluding bank charges.
  8. Upload scanned copies of the required documents.
  9. Preview the details entered to ensure they are correct.
  10. After confirming the information, click the “Finish” button to generate your Registration Confirmation Slip.

Payment can be made via Debit Card or other available payment options provided on the registration platform.

DOCUMENT UPLOAD REQUIREMENTS

Candidates are required to upload scanned copies of their relevant documents, including the 2026 UTME Result Slip, 2026 DE Registration Details Slip, A-Level, NCE, ND or HND certificates where applicable, as well as the Birth Certificate and Certificate of Origin.

The documents should be uploaded in JPG format, with a minimum file size of 120KB and a maximum file size of 150KB.

Candidates should carefully check their uploaded documents before completing the registration.

CANDIDATES WITH AWAITING RESULTS

Candidates with awaiting O’Level results are allowed to apply but must ensure that their O’Level results, including WAEC/NECO results, are properly uploaded to the JAMB portal through a JAMB-approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre.

Candidates are advised to complete the result upload as early as possible to avoid issues during the admission process.

IMPORTANT NOTICE ON ACCEPTANCE OF ADMISSION

The University stated that there will be a four-week timeframe within which all approved admissions must be accepted by successful candidates.

Candidates who fail to accept their admission within the stipulated period may have their admission deleted and subsequently placed under the “refusal to accept” category, which may make them ineligible for admission again.

Applicants are therefore advised to regularly monitor their admission status and act promptly whenever an admission offer is made.

BEWARE OF FRAUDSTERS

AKSU has also warned candidates against dealing with individuals or sales agents claiming to represent the University.

The University stated that it does not have individuals or sales agents for admission.

Candidates are strongly advised not to make payments into personal accounts or deal with anyone who claims to be authorised to process admission on behalf of the University.

Any candidate who deals with unauthorised individuals or makes payment into an individual’s account does so at their own risk.
