FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF KASHERE (FUKASHERE) RELEASES ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION
The Federal University of Kashere (FUKASHERE) has released the approved academic calendar for the 2026/2027 academic session, outlining important dates and activities for students and staff throughout the session.
The calendar was released by the Directorate of Academic Planning, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, and contains the schedules for registration, lectures, matriculation, orientation, examinations, SIWES, teaching practice, academic board meetings, breaks and other major activities.
According to the approved calendar, the first semester will commence with the registration of fresh students on Monday, 5th October 2026, while returning students are scheduled to resume and commence lectures from Tuesday, 13th October 2026.
The university has advised students to take note of the various dates and make adequate preparations for the academic session.
FUKASHERE 2026/2027 FIRST SEMESTER ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The first semester calendar covers activities from October 2026 through March 2027.

Fresh Students’ Registration
According to the calendar, registration for fresh students will begin on Monday, 5th October 2026 and end on Friday, 23rd October 2026.
Returning students are scheduled to register and commence lectures from Tuesday, 13th October, while late registration for both fresh and returning students will run from 26th to 30th October 2026.
The university has also scheduled the Add and Drop period from 26th October to 6th November 2026.
Matriculation and Orientation
Fresh students will participate in their matriculation ceremony on Tuesday, 17th November 2026.
This will be followed by the orientation programme scheduled for Wednesday, 18th to Friday, 20th November 2026.
These activities are expected to help newly admitted students become familiar with the university’s academic environment and procedures.
First Semester Lectures and Examinations
Lectures for the first semester are scheduled to run from Monday, 26th October 2026 to Saturday, 16th January 2027, covering a period of 12 weeks.
Students will then proceed to revision from 18th to 23rd January 2027, after which the first semester examination will commence.
The first semester examination is scheduled for 25th January to 13th February 2027.
FUKASHERE SECOND SEMESTER ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The second semester will officially commence on Monday, 29th March 2027.
Students will resume and lectures will begin on the same date.

SECOND SEMESTER LECTURES AND EXAMINATIONS
The second semester lecture period will run from 29th March to 19th June 2027, giving students 12 weeks of lectures.
Revision will take place from 21st to 26th June 2027, followed by the second semester examination scheduled for 28th June to 17th July 2027.
The university has allocated a minimum of six weeks for the marking of examination scripts, running from 28th June to 6th August 2027.
SIWES AND TEACHING PRACTICE
The approved calendar also includes industrial training and teaching practice activities.
For the first semester period, SIWES is scheduled from 15th February to 14th May 2027, covering three months.
A second SIWES period is listed from 19th July to 18th October 2027, also covering three months.
For students required to participate in Teaching Practice, the programme is scheduled to take place from 19th July to 27th August 2027.
Students affected by these programmes are advised to take note of the dates and make the necessary arrangements ahead of time.
FIRST AND SECOND SEMESTER BREAKS
The first semester break is scheduled for Monday, 15th February to Friday, 26th March 2027.
The second semester break, also described as the Long Vacation, will run from Monday, 19th July to Sunday, 10th October 2027.
However, activities such as Teaching Practice, SIWES, board meetings and other academic responsibilities are scheduled within portions of these periods for the relevant students and staff.
2027/2028 ACADEMIC SESSION
According to the approved calendar, the 2027/2028 academic session is scheduled to commence on Monday, 11th October 2027.
Academic staff annual leave is scheduled from Wednesday, 1st September to Wednesday, 13th October 2027, covering 30 working days.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
The university management stated that all public holidays declared by the Federal Government will be observed during the academic session.
Students and staff are therefore advised to take note that dates may be affected by officially declared public holidays where applicable.
