UNIVERSITY OF MAIDUGURI (UNIMAID) ISSUES NOTICE TO STUDENTS OF EXTENSION OF MANDATORY PORTAL REGISTRATION DEADLINE
The Management of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), through the Office of the Registrar, has issued an internal circular (Ref: R/ACA.24/VOL.VII) directing all undergraduate students to complete their mandatory profile update and course registration on the institution’s official portal (umstad.online).
According to the official circular signed by the Registrar, Ahmad A. Lawan, management observed with concern that a significant number of undergraduate students still have incomplete profiles and outstanding registration records. In response, the deadline for the portal update exercise has been extended to Tuesday, 20th October 2026.
To ensure a successful update, students are required to follow these mandatory steps on the portal:
* Bio-Data & Document Upload: Update all personal information fields and upload scanned copies of your JAMB admission letter, O’Level results, Primary School Leaving Certificate, and Indigene Certificate. Casual, stylized, or fashion photographs (“passion photos”) are strictly prohibited.
* E-Signature Capture: Provide a digital signature via the screen digital pad on a mobile device or upload a clean scanned signature signed strictly in black ink.
* Portal Password Security: Change the default portal password to a secure personalized option immediately. Students are advised not to share login credentials with third parties or cyber café operators, as individuals will be held personally accountable for their account security.
* Course Registration & Submission: Complete all semester course listings online. Following online submission, students must print out copies of both the finalized Bio-Data Form and Course Registration Form, then physically submit hard copies to their respective Heads of Department (HODs).
The university management issued a stern warning that any undergraduate student who fails to complete their profile update, upload required documents, register courses, and submit hard copies to their department before the portal closes on Tuesday, 20th October 2026, will be AUTOMATICALLY WITHDRAWN from the university. The circular emphasized that this administrative withdrawal will be enforced even if the student has sat for and concluded their final examinations for the current session.
Students encountering technical hitches, profile errors, or system issues are advised to report physically to the Computer & ICT Centre or contact the dedicated support helpline at 07037795011 for immediate assistance.
Be informed accordingly please. Thank you!
