MADIBBO ADAMA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, YOLA ISSUES IMPORTANT NOTICE ON COLLECTION OF CERTIFICATES.
The Management of Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, has formally announced the commencement of certificate collection for its graduates. This exercise is specifically targeted at the recently convoked alumni who have fulfilled their academic requirements and are now eligible to receive their original degree scrolls.
According to the official university bulletin, the exercise is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, 18th February 2026. To ensure an orderly and secure distribution process, the university has centralized the operation at the Academic Division Office, situated within the New Administrative Block.
Mandatory Procedural Requirements
The university has established a rigorous verification framework to protect the integrity of its degrees. Graduates must provide the following documentation before a certificate can be released:
1. Formal Application and Academic Records
-
Application Letter: A written application letter addressed to the Academic Secretary requesting the release of the certificate.
-
Statement of Result: Presentation of the original copy of the Degree Statement of Result issued upon graduation.
-
Entry Credentials: * Direct Entry Candidates: Original A’ Level certificate used for admission.
-
UTME Candidates: Original O’ Level certificate(s) or verified copies of the statement(s) of result.
-
2. Identification and Security Clearance
To prevent the fraudulent collection of certificates, the university requires:
-
University ID Card: The original student identification card issued during the course of study.
-
Legal Substitute: In cases where the University ID is lost, a Court Affidavit must be presented.
-
Valid National Identity: A supplementary valid means of identification, such as a National ID Card (NIN slip), International Passport, or Voter’s Card.
3. Financial Obligations and Remita Workflow
The university has fixed a certificate processing fee of Ten Thousand Naira (₦10,000.00). In line with the Federal Government’s Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy, all payments must be processed via the Remita Platform.
Step-by-Step Collection Workflow
To ensure a seamless experience at the New Administrative Block, graduates are advised to follow this logical sequence:
-
Generate Remita RRR: Visit the Remita website, select “Modibbo Adama University, Yola,” and generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) for “Certificate Collection Fee.”
-
Payment: Complete the ₦10,000 payment at any commercial bank or via online banking.
-
Bursary Verification: Take the Remita printout to the University Bursary (or designated point) to obtain an official university receipt.
-
Submission at Academic Division: Proceed to the Academic Division Office with all the documents listed above.
-
Room C5 Inquiry: For any technical hitches or specific queries regarding misplaced records, graduates should visit Room C5 in the New Administrative Block for administrative assistance.
Important Notes for Graduates
-
Third-Party Collection: The university generally discourages the collection of certificates by proxy. If a graduate is unable to appear in person, a formal Power of Attorney, legalized by a court and accompanied by the original documents of the graduate, may be required (subject to the Academic Secretary’s approval).
-
Integrity of Documents: Ensure that the names on all presented IDs and entry certificates match the name on the University Statement of Result exactly. Any discrepancies may lead to a delay in the issuance of the certificate for further investigation.
-
Lamination Policy: Graduates are advised not to laminate their original certificates immediately, as lamination can interfere with future verification processes or the application of official seals and stamps required for international transcript evaluations.
The issuance of the original degree certificate marks the final administrative bond between the student and the university. MAU Yola remains committed to ensuring that its alumni transition into their professional careers with the necessary legal and academic credentials.
