NORTHWEST UNIVERSITY, KANO RELEASES POST-UTME/DE ADMISSION FORM FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION
The management of Northwest University, Kano has officially announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for candidates seeking admission into the university.
According to the institution, online registration for the screening exercise will begin on Monday, August 10, 2026, and end on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
The university invites all candidates who selected Northwest University, Kano as their first-choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or Direct Entry admission exercise to complete their screening registration within the stipulated period.

Candidates should take note of the following important dates:
- Registration Opens: Monday, August 10, 2026
- Registration Closes: Sunday, August 23, 2026
Applicants are advised to complete their registration early, as no extension has been announced.

Eligibility Requirements
For UTME Candidates
Applicants must:
- Choose Northwest University, Kano as their first-choice institution.
- Obtain at least five (5) O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
- Meet the minimum UTME score required for their chosen course.
For Direct Entry Candidates
Candidates applying through Direct Entry must possess:
- A valid 2026 JAMB Direct Entry Registration Slip.
- National Diploma (ND), NCE, or IJMB qualification.
- A minimum CGPA of 3.0 for science-based programmes.
- A minimum CGPA of 3.5 for arts-based programmes.
- At least 9 points in NCE.
- A minimum of 7 IJMB points for science courses and 8 IJMB points for arts and social science courses.
Registration Procedure
Eligible candidates should complete their application by following the steps below:
Step 1
Visit the official Northwest University, Kano website at www.nwu.edu.ng.
Step 2
Click on the 2026 Admission Portal.
Step 3
Generate a NABROLL Payment Invoice.
Step 4
Pay the prescribed screening fee of ₦2,000 through the online payment platform or at any designated commercial bank.
Step 5
Return to the admission portal after payment to complete the online registration.
Step 6
Print your Acknowledgement Slip, which must be presented during the screening exercise alongside other required credentials.
Important Information for Applicants
Candidates should carefully note the following:
- Applicants wishing to change their institution or programme through JAMB must do so before midnight on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
- All candidates are required to upload their O’Level and other relevant credentials on the JAMB e-Facility Portal.
- Applicants must ensure that the grades entered during registration correspond exactly with those on their O’Level results.
- Any discrepancy discovered during verification may lead to cancellation of admission.
- Candidates who fail to complete the screening registration before the deadline will not be considered for admission into the university.
