The Federal Government has approved the appointment of Ambassador Dr. (Mrs.) Nimota Nihinlola Akanbi as the new Pro-Chancellor and Chairperson of the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo.

The appointment places the seasoned diplomat and education administrator at the helm of the institution’s governing council as part of efforts to strengthen leadership and institutional development within Nigeria’s education sector.

A Distinguished Career in Public Service

Ambassador Akanbi, a respected alumna of the University of Ilorin, brings decades of experience in public administration, diplomacy, and educational leadership to her new role.

She previously served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, where she played a significant role in strengthening diplomatic and bilateral relations between both countries.
