This is to inform the general public especially prospective students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) that the Committee of Provost and Deans, at its 424th Emergency Meeting held on Thursday, 28th August, 2025, carefully reviewed and considered the result analysis of the 2025/2026 Post-UTME screening exercise conducted for prospective candidates seeking admission into various academic programmes for the upcoming academic session.

After a thorough deliberation based on performance trends and overall data collected during the screening process, the Committee has reached a formal decision regarding the acceptable benchmark for admission. It was unanimously agreed that the minimum tolerable Post-UTME cut-off mark for the 2025/2026 admission exercise will be 120. This means that candidates who scored 120 and above in the Post-UTME will be eligible for consideration in the next stages of the admission process, depending on other criteria specific to individual departments and programmes.

This cut-off mark is aimed at ensuring a fair, inclusive, and competitive admission process, while still maintaining the academic standards of the institution. It also gives room for more prospective students who meet the minimum academic threshold to be considered for available spaces in various departments, subject to merit and quota availability.

The decision of the Committee of Provost and Deans is hereby formally conveyed to all concerned, including candidates, staff, and the general public, for their information and necessary action. All applicants are advised to take note of this development and follow up on subsequent updates regarding departmental screening, admission lists, and other admission-related procedures.

Thank you.

Mrs. Gloria O. Chindah, Ph.D

Registrar/Senior Member, Committee of Provost and Deans.
