REDEEMER’S UNIVERSITY,EDE RECEIVES NUC APPROVAL FOR 10 NEW UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES 

Redeemer’s University, Ede, Nigeria, has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence 10 new full-time undergraduate programmes from the 2026/2027 academic session.

The latest approval expands the university’s academic offerings and provides prospective students with additional programmes to choose from across media, technology, security, science and other emerging fields.

NUC APPROVES 10 NEW PROGRAMMES

The approval followed a resource verification exercise conducted by a panel of experts constituted by the National Universities Commission to assess the human and material resources available for the proposed programmes.

In a letter signed by the Director, Academic Planning, Abubakar M. Girei, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the NUC, the Commission conveyed its approval for Redeemer’s University to commence the programmes on its main campus.

The newly approved programmes are:

1. B.Sc. Broadcasting
2. B.Sc. Public Relations
3. B.Sc. Advertising
4. B.Sc. Information and Media Studies
5. B.Sc. Journalism and Media Studies
6. B.A. Film Production
7. B.Sc. Criminology and Security Studies
8. B.Sc. Biotechnology
9. B.Sc. Software Engineering
10. B.Sc. Information Systems

According to the NUC, the approval covers the full-time mode of study only.

Commenting on the development, the Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, described the approvals as another significant milestone in the university’s pursuit of academic excellence.

He stated that the new programmes reflect the institution’s commitment to providing academic programmes that respond to emerging global trends, industry needs and the evolving demands of the knowledge economy.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the new programmes will provide prospective students with broader opportunities to pursue careers in dynamic and rapidly evolving fields.
