The National Association Of Nigeria Students, NANS, has said it is fully in support of the planned protest by concerned tertiary students to allow campuses resume with health protocols.
This is coming at a time where many Nigerian students are expressing their eagerness to resume lectures, considering a lot of factors which has continued to affect them morally, financially and academically.

The coordinator of NANS Zone A, Comrade Zakari Hashim CNS, in an exclusive interview with CAMPUSINFO today (Sunday), said agitating for schools to reopen is a welcome development and the arm will provide support.

“It is a welcome development. You have my support. The Federal Government should announce a date. They should also reach an agreement with ASUU before resumption”, he said.

Comrade Zakari also emphasized that isolation centers should be located at every federal Institution to monitor suspected cases.

Asked if he was aware of the recent demands by NANS which are declaration of free academic year to all Nigerian students, provision for food items, and payment of study allowances to students of tertiary institutions, he confirmed that truly, those are also pending demands for the government to grant upon resumption
