Meet the 27 Years Old ABSU Graduate Who is The Youngest Local Government Chairman in Nigeria.


Born on October 19,1992, Chima Okechukwu though from a very humble background, grew up with destiny of greatness hanging on his neck. From primary school,to secondary up to university he has always held leadership positions.

At Abia State University Uturu, where he graduated from in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, Hon. Chima was the President of the Faculty’s students body,HUMSSA ( Humanities and Social Science Students Association). A body that coordinates students of the over 8 departments that made up the Faculty.

Soon after his National Youths Service, he joined his mentor, Barr. Eni Uduma Chima, Ph.D,who gave him appointment to serve with him at the Local Government where he was Chairman as Special Assistant on Political Matters.

This opportunity provided Hon. Chima Okechukwu the opportunity to understudy how the Local Government system works without knowing he will return to Chair same Local Government only few years later.

He was sworn in yesterday May 29, 2020 by the youth friendly Governor of Ebonyi State,Gov. Dave Nwaeze Umahi as the TC Chairman,Afikpo South LGA.
By this appointment, Hon. Chima Okechukwu has become the youngest Local Government Chairman in Nigeria.

Expectations are high,that he will discharge his duties well and deliver dividends of democracy to his people,in line with the vision of the Governor,Engr. Dave Nwaeze Umahi’s administration.

His performance in office will validate the fact that youths are capable of doing better when given the opportunity.
