JAMB Begins Rescheduling of Affected 2026 UTME Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially commenced the rescheduling of candidates affected during the ongoing 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

This development comes after several reports of technical and logistical challenges experienced in some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the country.

Fresh Exam Dates Released

Affected candidates have started receiving notifications from JAMB containing their new examination dates and times. In these messages, candidates are advised to reprint their examination slips to access complete details of their rescheduled exams.

A typical notification reads:

> “Your exam has been rescheduled and your new exam date is Friday, April 17, 2026 at 12:00PM. Kindly visit the official portal to reprint your exam slip for more details.”

Candidates are strongly encouraged to take this instruction seriously and ensure they check their updated exam details promptly.

Why JAMB Is Rescheduling Candidates

The rescheduling exercise is part of JAMB’s effort to ensure fairness and give all candidates an equal opportunity to sit for the examination.

According to earlier updates, some candidates were unable to complete their exams due to issues such as:

  • System or computer malfunction
  • Biometric verification failure
  • Network disruptions
  • Technical faults from the CBT centre

JAMB has assured the public that only candidates with verified cases will be considered for rescheduling.

Important Notice to Candidates

  • It is important to note that this opportunity is strictly for affected candidates only.
  • Candidates who deliberately missed their examination or failed to show up at their assigned centres will not be eligible for rescheduling.

What To Do If You Are Affected

If you experienced any issue during your exam, here are the steps you should take:

1. Regularly check your email and SMS for updates from JAMB

2. Visit the official JAMB portal

3. Reprint your examination slip to confirm your new date and time

4. Prepare adequately and arrive early for your rescheduled exam

Still Waiting? Keep Checking

Candidates who are yet to receive their new examination details are advised to remain calm and continue checking their email and SMS notifications regularly.

JAMB is expected to continue the rescheduling process in batches, so updates may come at different times.

Final Thoughts

This move by JAMB demonstrates its commitment to ensuring that no candidate is unfairly disadvantaged due to circumstances beyond their control.

Affected candidates should act quickly once notified and ensure they are fully prepared for their new examination date.

If you encountered any issue during your exam and need help with reprinting your examination slip, you can send a DM for guidance.
