FEDERAL UNIVERSITY DUTSE (FUDUTSE) GETS NUC APPROVAL FOR FACULTY OF LAW AND 30 NEW ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the establishment of the Faculty of Law at Federal University Dutse (FUD) and granted approval for the university to commence 30 new academic programmes on a full-time basis from the 2026/2027 academic session.

The development marks an expansion of the university’s academic offerings across several fields, including Law, Science and Technology, Allied Health Sciences, Education, Arts and postgraduate studies.

According to the approval communicated by the NUC, the newly approved programmes are expected to commence from the 2026/2027 academic session.

The approval was conveyed in an official letter dated 11th September 2026, with reference number NUC/AP/F33/VOL.II/15.

• B.Sc. Artificial Intelligence

• B.Sc. Information Systems
• B.Sc. Science Laboratory Technology, with options in Biology Technology and Biochemistry Technology
• B.Sc. Environmental Standards
• B.Sc. Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
• B.Sc. Applied Geology and Remote Sensing

The approval of the Law programme paves the way for Federal University Dutse to establish its Faculty of Law and commence training in Common and Islamic Law.

The addition of programmes such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Information Systems also expands the university’s offerings in technology-related disciplines.

ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES

The NUC also approved several programmes in the area of Allied Health Sciences, including:

MBBS ADMISSION WILL NOT HOLD FOR 2026/2027

Despite the expansion of programmes in the health-related fields, admission into the MBBS programme will not hold for the 2026/2027 academic session.
