FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, NEKEDE ANNOUNCES 48TH MATRICULATION CEREMONY

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri (FPNO), has officially announced the institution’s 48th Matriculation Ceremony, marking the formal academic induction of the 2025/2026 intake. This ceremony serves as the definitive transition for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students from provisional candidates to recognized members of the polytechnic community. Scheduled for Thursday, 26th February 2026, the event will take place at the FPNO School Auditorium, with proceedings beginning strictly at 9:00 a.m. prompt.

In a congratulatory message, the SUG leadership highlighted the significance of this milestone, describing it as the threshold of a journey toward professional and technical mastery. The Union reminded freshers that by taking the matriculation oath, they are pledging to uphold the values of excellence, innovation, and inclusivity that define “Nekede Poly.”

Ceremony Schedule and Venue Logistics

To ensure a smooth transition, the Polytechnic Management and the SUG have finalized the logistical arrangements for the day.

Participation in the matriculation ceremony is predicated on the use of the approved academic gown. This regalia represents the student’s formal affiliation with the institution and must be handled according to the following guidelines:

1. Payment: Students must present evidence of payment for the matriculation fee (often bundled with the registration or acceptance fees) via the Remita platform.

2. Collection: Gowns are to be collected from the respective School Officers at the various faculty secretariats.

3. Return Policy: All hired gowns must be returned to the School Officers within 24 to 48 hours after the ceremony. Failure to return the gown on time typically attracts a daily late-return penalty, while loss of the gown will require full replacement at the current market rate.
