STATE UNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL AND APPLIED SCIENCES (SUMAS) ANNOUNCES SUPPLEMENTARY ADMISSION APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Management of the State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS), Igbo-Eno, Enugu State, through the Office of the Registrar, has officially invited applications from qualified candidates for its 2026/2027 supplementary undergraduate admission exercise.

In an official public notice signed by the Registrar, Dr. A. U. Onah, the university stated that applications are open for candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and achieved a minimum score of 150 and above.

Candidate Eligibility Criteria

The supplementary admission exercise is open to two main categories of applicants:

* First-Choice Applicants: Candidates who chose the State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS), Igbo-Eno, as their first-choice institution in the 2026 UTME but have not yet been granted admission into their initial preferred courses.

* Change-of-Institution Applicants: Candidates who did not originally select SUMAS as their first-choice university in the 2026 UTME but are desirous of changing to SUMAS as their first-choice institution.

Application Procedures and Guidelines

Prospective candidates are instructed to execute the application process according to their initial JAMB profile setup:

* For First-Choice Candidates: Candidates who previously selected SUMAS as their first choice are required to visit any JAMB-approved CBT centre and perform a formal Change of Course to any of the advertised programmes.

* For Non-First-Choice Candidates: Candidates who did not initially select SUMAS as their first choice must visit a JAMB-approved CBT centre to effect a Change of Institution to SUMAS as their first-choice university, alongside changing their course to any of the listed programmes.

* PUTME Portal Registration: Candidates who have not previously applied for the SUMAS Post-UTME screening must visit the official university portal at sumas.edu.ng, click on Apply for 2026/2027 Post-UTME, and complete the online application.

* Exemption for Existing Applicants: Candidates who have already completed the SUMAS Post-UTME application in the current cycle do not need to apply again on the university portal.

Important Administrative Notes

* O’Level and Subject Requirements: Candidates must ensure they meet the specific O’Level subject requirements for their chosen programme and satisfy the correct UTME subject combination.

* Admission Criteria: Admission consideration will strictly follow a first-come, first-served principle due to limited available spaces in the advertised programmes.
