MOSHOOD ABIOLA POLYTECHNIC, ABEOKUTA RELEASES APPROVED FIRST SEMESTER ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, has released its approved academic calendar for the 2026/2027 First Semester academic session, outlining the schedule of major academic activities for fresh and returning students.

The calendar was approved by the Academic Board on Monday, 21st September 2026 and covers important activities including resumption, registration, lectures, examinations, matriculation, mid-semester tests, revision and the commencement of the second semester.

2026/2027 FIRST SEMESTER ACADEMIC CALENDAR

According to the approved calendar, the major academic activities are scheduled as follows:

SEPTEMBER 2026

Monday, 21st September 2026

• Commencement of the 2026/2027 First Semester.
• Payment of school fees and resumption/registration by fresh students, including ND I and HND I students, Full-time and Part-time.
• 2025/2026 Third Semester Examination for Part-time Students begins and runs until Friday, 25th September 2026.
• Marking of 2025/2026 Second Semester Examination scripts begins and continues until Friday, 2nd October 2026.

OCTOBER 2026

Monday, 5th October 2026

• Resumption and registration by returning non-SIWES students, including all HND II Full-time and Part-time students.
• Publication of course allocation/workload and lecture timetables begins and runs until Friday, 9th October 2026.

Friday, 9th October 2026

• Deadline for submission of 2025/2026 Second Semester Examination results to Heads of Departments and uploading online.

Monday, 12th October 2026

• Lectures commence for all fresh and returning non-SIWES students.
• Departmental Board of Studies begins consideration of the 2025/2026 Second Semester Examination results, continuing until Friday, 16th October.

Monday, 19th October 2026

• School Board of Studies begins consideration of the 2025/2026 Second Semester Examination results, continuing until Friday, 23rd October.

Monday, 26th October 2026

• Completion of results processing online, through the portal/CITM, begins and continues until Friday, 30th October.

NOVEMBER 2026

Monday, 2nd November 2026

• Submission of results to the Office of the Deputy Registrar, Academics I, by Directors of Schools begins and continues until Friday, 6th November.

Monday, 9th November 2026

• Academic Board meeting for consideration of the 2025/2026 Second Semester results, scheduled to continue until Friday, 13th November.

Friday, 20th November 2026

• Deadline for payment of fees and end of registration for all fresh and non-SIWES students.

Monday, 30th November 2026

• Resumption and commencement of lectures for SIWES students.

DECEMBER 2026

Monday, 14th December 2026

• Statutory Academic Board Meeting.

Wednesday, 23rd December 2026 – Friday, 1st January 2027

• Christmas and End-of-Year Break. No lectures will hold during this period.

FEBRUARY 2027 ACTIVITIES

Academic activities will resume with several important programmes in February 2027.

Monday, 1st – Friday, 5th February 2027

• Orientation activities for fresh students at Departments and Schools.

Wednesday, 3rd – Friday, 5th February 2027

• MAPOLY Staff Sports Festival.

Thursday, 4th February 2027

• Examination Planning Committee Meeting.

Monday, 1st – Saturday, 6th February 2027

• Mid-Semester Test for all students.

The tests for GNS 101, GNS 201, GNS 301 and GNS 401 are to be conducted as Computer-Based Examinations (CBT).

Monday, 15th February 2027

• Statutory Academic Board Meeting.

Thursday, 18th February 2027

• Examination Planning Committee Meeting.

Saturday, 20th February 2027

• End of lectures and practicals for all students.

Monday, 22nd – Saturday, 27th February 2027

• Revision Week for all students.

Wednesday, 24th February 2027

• Matriculation Ceremony.

FIRST SEMESTER EXAMINATION

The First Semester Examination for all students, both Full-time and Part-time, is scheduled to hold from:

Monday, 1st March – Saturday, 20th March 2027

The examination period will run for three weeks.

The 2026/2027 First Semester will officially end on Saturday, 20th March 2027.

SEMESTER BREAK AND COMMENCEMENT OF SECOND SEMESTER

The end-of-semester break/leave for academic staff members is scheduled for Monday, 22nd March to Friday, 2nd April 2027.

The Second Semester of the 2026/2027 academic session will commence on Monday, 5th April 2027, with lectures beginning for all students.

A Statutory Academic Board Meeting is also scheduled to hold on Monday, 5th April 2027.

Students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta are advised to take note of the approved academic calendar and make adequate preparations for the various academic activities throughout the 2026/2027 session.
