The management of the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo (FCES Oyo) has officially announced the commencement of the 2026/2027 Post-UTME admission screening exercise for its 5-Year Dual Mode Degree Programme.

Established in October 1977, the College is the only institution dedicated to Special Education in Sub-Saharan West Africa, with a mandate to train teachers and other professionals for learners with special needs. Due to its unique status, the College admits students from all parts of Nigeria.

The screening exercise is scheduled to hold on Thursday, 24th September, 2026, and qualified candidates are invited to apply.

Available Programme

The College is offering admission into:

  • 5-Year Dual Mode Degree Programme (3 Years NCE + 2 Years Degree)

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates seeking admission must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Candidates who selected Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo as their first-choice institution during the 2026 UTME.
  • Candidates who did not initially choose the College can still apply after completing a Change of Institution through JAMB and selecting the College as their first choice.
  • Candidates who did not sit for the 2026 UTME are also eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must possess at least four (4) O’Level credit passes in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS.
  • Candidates must be at least 16 years old on or before 30th September, 2026.

How to Apply

Interested applicants should follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the official admission portal: https://dualmode.fcesoyo.edu.ng
  2. Pay a non-refundable screening registration fee of ₦2,000 via the Remita platform.
  3. Pay an additional ₦700 processing fee for the admission exercise.
  4. Candidates who did not sit for the 2026 UTME must pay ₦3,500 for JAMB registration at the College’s approved Institutional Professional Registration Centre (IPRC).
  5. Complete and submit the online application form.
  6. Upload scanned copies of your O’Level results and a recent passport photograph (JPEG/JPG format, white background, maximum 100KB).
  7. Print your completed application form after successful registration.

O’Level Verification Fee

Applicants will also pay an O’Level verification fee as follows:

  • ₦1,500 for one sitting.
  • ₦2,000 for two sittings.

Documents Required for the Screening Exercise

Candidates are expected to present the following during the screening:

  • Two copies of the UTME e-Notification of Result Slip.
  • Original and photocopy of the completed online screening application form.
  • Original O’Level result(s) (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or NBAIS, where applicable).
  • Change of Institution printout (for candidates who initially chose another institution).
  • Candidates must upload their O’Level results to JAMB CAPS through any accredited CBT Centre.
  • Candidates awaiting O’Level results may apply but must upload their results to JAMB CAPS once available.

Screening Date

  • Date: Thursday, 24th September, 2026
  • Time: 9:00 AM Prompt
  • Venue: As indicated on the printed application form.

The deadline for completing and submitting the online application is:

Wednesday, 23rd September, 2026.

Candidates are advised to register early and avoid waiting until the closing date.
