The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that results for candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be released before midnight today.

Results for April 16 Candidates

According to a statement shared by Fabian Benjamin, candidates who wrote the UTME on Thursday, April 16, 2026, should expect their results to be made available later today.

The announcement reassures candidates that the marking and processing of results for the first batch have been completed, and release is imminent.

Official Announcement Expected

JAMB also stated that once the results are officially released, a public announcement will be made. Candidates are advised to stay updated through JAMB’s official communication channels.

This ensures that candidates receive accurate and verified information directly from the examination body.

How to Check Your UTME Result

Once the results are released, candidates will be able to check their scores using the official method provided by JAMB. Typically, this involves:

  • Sending a text message using the registered phone number (UTMERESULTS TO 55019/66019)
  • Visiting the official JAMB portal (if enabled)
  • Candidates are strongly advised to use only official channels to avoid misinformation or fraud.

Important Advice to Candidates

As anticipation builds, candidates are encouraged to remain calm and patient while waiting for their results. It is also important to avoid falling for scams or fake result-checking platforms.

Make sure you:

  • Use the same phone number used during registration
  • Follow only verified instructions from JAMB
  • Ignore unofficial links or agents claiming to “upgrade” results

Final Thoughts

The early release of UTME results reflects JAMB’s continued effort to improve efficiency and transparency in the examination process.

Candidates who sat for the exam on the first day should stay alert and be ready to check their results once they are officially released later today.
