In an interview with newsmen in Lagos, she said her position as an Assistant Head Girl in her school motivated her to excel in her academics as she could not afford to perform poorly or drop in my grades.

Agnes who disclosed she has always been outstanding academically even while in Primary school said one major secret of her excellent performance is doing what works for her.

She said: In my school, people study a lot. Sometimes they read into the night when they are supposed to be sleeping. Personally, I believe that the way to do things is to trust your system. When you are supposed to sleep, you should sleep because sleep is very essential.

If you have an examination, I feel that you don’t have to burn the midnight oil because if you have been working hard from day one, there is no reason to read extra hard the night before the exam. Apart from that, when you read too much, you might not be able to remember everything; because it is called “fast reading.” But when you read at intervals and breaks, sleep when you are supposed to, it really helps a lot and that’s what I do.

When asked why she decided to go for Engineering, Agnes said she has always been creative and like putting things in order. She said while some people think Engineering is for men, she does not think so because it is all about ideas and creativity. So if you know your strength is in science subjects like Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics, and you feel like you want to make a change, do things better, engineering is it.

Agnes expressed how fulfilled with her achievement. saying that getting the best result makes her feel she can inspire other juniors who would want to do engineering.

She finally advised other students in secondary schools to trust the system as school is not just to read and pass exams. She emphasized that all she has learned from her school and the teachers has helped to make her a better person.

1. Ph.D. Degree Programmes:
These are available to holders of M.A; M.Ed.; M.Sc. and LL.M degrees, with a minimum of 4.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average CGPA or equivalent 60% score in their academic Master degree programmes. A Ph.D. degree programme runs for a minimum period of six (6) semesters and a maximum period of ten (10) semesters. Relevant courses will be taken for the Ph.D. full time studies where prescribed and a Thesis is required at the end of the Ph.D. programme.

2. M.Phil /Ph.D. Degree Programmes:
Candidates who score less than 4.0 CGPA or equivalent 60% score in M.A., M.Ed., M.Sc., LL.M. can apply for admission into the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil/Ph.D.) degree programme. The M.Phil/Ph.D. degree programme is available only to full-time candidates. It runs for a minimum period of two (2) semesters and a maximum period of four (4) semesters. Candidates in this category are eligible for conversion to Ph.D. To be eligible for conversion for the Ph.D. programme, candidates are expected to score not less than 4.00 CGPA at the end of the first session.

3. Master Degree Programmes:
M.A., M.Ed., M.Sc., LL.M. degrees run for a minimum period of 4 semesters and a maximum period of 6 semesters for full-time candidates; a minimum period of 6 semesters and a maximum period of 8 semesters for part-time candidates. All Master Degree Programmes are by coursework. This is in addition to a research report in form of a Dissertation or Research project. HND with PGDs at upper credit may be acceptable.

4. Postgraduate Diploma Programmes:
Postgraduate Diploma degrees are available to candidates with a Third class (honours) degree and Higher National Diploma (HND) with minimum of lower credit or its equivalents. The Diplomas run for a minimum period of 2 semesters and a maximum period of 4 semesters for full time candidates or a minimum period of 4 semesters and a maximum period of 6 semesters for part time candidates.

5. General information
The Postgraduate session for Postgraduate programmes is two (2) semesters, commencing in October and ending in September of the following year, starting from the date of first registration.

UNILORIN Business School Professional Postgraduate Admission

Eligibility.

Master of Business Administration (MBA): Candidates for admission into the MBA Programme shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Holders of professional qualifications such as ACA, ACMA, AIB, ACIS, CIBN, ACTS or HND (Upper Credit) must possess a postgraduate Diploma Certificate in Strategic Management from the University of Ilorin with a Minimum average weighted score of 60%.

Master of Geographic Information Systems (MGIS): Candidates for admission into the MGIS Programme shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Holders of professional qualifications such as HND (Upper Credit) with a minimum of five (5) years post-qualification experience are also eligible to apply.

Master in Industrial and Labour Relations (MILR): Candidates for admission into the MILR degree Programme shall normally possess an honours degree with a minimum of Third Class Honours of the University of Ilorin, or from any other recognized University.

Master of Public Administration (MPA): Candidates for admission into the MPA degree Programme shall normally possess a minimum of Third Class Honours in any discipline from the University of Ilorin, or any other recognized University.

Master of Health Planning and Management (MHPM): A candidate to be admitted shall:

(b) A minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division in any of the above.

Master in Information Technology (MIT) Regular: Candidates applying for this programme must possess any of the following:

A Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology or any related field, with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) or Lower Credit grade, or

A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of Second Class Honour (Lower Division) or its equivalent in any field of study with a minimum of 3 years IT-related working experience which may involve planning, development, operation and maintenance of Information Systems, or
A Bachelor’s Degree with a Third Class Honours in any field of study with a minimum of 5 years IT-related working experience which may involve planning, development, operation and maintenance of Information Systems.

Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM): Candidates for admission into the PGDSM shall normally possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Third Class Honours or professional qualification such as ICAN or HND certificate with a minimum of Lower Credit from recognized Institutions.

Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and Logistics Management (PGDMLM): Candidates for admission into the PGDMLM shall normally possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Third Class or HND certificates with a minimum of Lower Credit from recognized Institutions.

NOTE: Please note that at least Credit passes in Mathematics and English at “O” Level are required to qualify for admission into our programmes.

Qualifying Examination and Date: All applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma and Master Degree Programmes will be subjected to a written assessment (qualifying examination), irrespective of the class of degree obtained.
