160 STUDENTS BAG FIRST CLASS IN FUTA

Not fewer than 160 students at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, have completed their various programmes in the university with first class honours.

According to the institution, the first class students are among the 5,114 students that would be conferred with first degree in the nine faculties at the forthcoming convocation of the institution.

FUTA Vice Chancellor, Prof Joseph Fuwape, disclosed these to journalists on Friday while speaking on the 32nd convocation and 40th anniversary of the institution.

Represented by the Chairman of the convocation and Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Philip Oguntunde, the vice chancellor said, “Out of the 5,114 graduands, 3,205 are in the undergraduate category while 1,909 are in the postgraduate category.

“Out of the total number, 160 students have first class, 1,334 have second class honours (upper division), 1,483 students have second class honours (lower division) while 222 and six students are graduating with third class and pass respectively.”

The vice chancellor added that Miss Taiwo Oluyale, a student of the Department of Building is the best graduating student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.89.

    Please if my aggregate scores is 52 over 100 do l have a chance to be admitted to the OAU Ile ife for admission?
