The Management of Venite University, Iloro-Ekiti, Ekiti State, is pleased to announce the formal schedule for its 3rd Matriculation Ceremony. This landmark event, which marks the official induction of the 2025/2026 academic session intake, represents a significant chapter in the university’s rapid growth as a center for academic excellence and character development in Nigeria. As a forward-thinking institution, Venite University continues to expand its footprint, and this ceremony serves as a public declaration of the university’s commitment to nurturing a new generation of leaders, innovators, and scholars.

Ceremony Schedule and Venue Logistics

The university has finalized the following arrangements for the proceedings to ensure a dignified and memorable experience for all attendees:

  • Date: Thursday, 5th March 2026

  • Time: 11:00 AM Prompt

  • Venue: Prince Michael Abiola Aina Hall, Venite University Campus, Iloro-Ekiti

The venue, named after the university’s visionary founder, is prepared to accommodate the matriculating class, university officials, and invited guests. All matriculating students are expected to be seated by 10:30 AM to allow for the formal commencement of the academic procession.

The Significance of the 3rd Matriculation Ceremony

This ceremony is particularly historic as it formally admits the third set of students into the university. Being the “third set” signifies the stabilization of the university’s academic culture and the transition from its foundational phase into a period of established growth. For the matriculants, this day marks the end of their status as “prospective” students and the legal commencement of their journey as full members of the university community.

By taking the Matriculation Oath, students pledge their loyalty to the institution’s statutes, promising to abide by the rules and regulations while striving for academic success. This oath is a binding contract between the student and the university, granting them the rights, privileges, and responsibilities associated with their respective departments and faculties.

Directives for Matriculating Students

To ensure full compliance with the university’s administrative standards, all newly admitted students must adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Academic Regalia (Matriculation Gown)

All matriculants are required to wear the official university academic dress. Gowns are available for collection at the designated Faculty Offices or the Student Affairs Unit. Students must present evidence of payment of the matriculation fee and ensure the regalia is returned in good condition within the stipulated timeframe following the ceremony to avoid penalties.

2. Finalization of Registration

Management emphasizes that only students who have successfully completed their online course registration and physical clearance will be permitted to sign the Matriculation Register. This register is the official document submitted to the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other regulatory bodies as proof of enrollment.

3. Punctuality and Conduct

Matriculation is a formal academic assembly. Students are expected to maintain the highest level of decorum, following the instructions of the marshals and ushers. The ceremony will feature addresses from the Vice-Chancellor and other principal officers, providing essential guidance for the students’ stay on campus.

Invitation to Stakeholders and the General Public

The university management extends a warm invitation to parents, guardians, partners, and well-wishers to witness this important academic milestone. The presence of families serves as a vital support system for the students as they embark on this demanding yet rewarding four or five-year journey.

Venite University also welcomes members of the public and potential partners to visit the campus during this event to observe the state-of-the-art facilities and the conducive learning environment that Iloro-Ekiti offers. The university prides itself on its community relations and views the matriculation ceremony as an opportunity to further strengthen the bond between the town and the gown.

A Vision for the 2025/2026 Cohort

Under the current administration, Venite University has integrated digital literacy and entrepreneurial skills into every academic program. The 2025/2026 set is entering an ecosystem designed to produce graduates who are not only theoretically sound but also practically equipped for the global labor market. The 3rd Matriculation Ceremony is therefore a celebration of potential and a commitment to the transformative power of education.

As the university community prepares for March 5th, the management reiterates its pledge to provide a safe, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating environment for all. We look forward to welcoming the newest members of the Venite family.
