UNIVERSITY OF BENIN (UNIBEN) ISSUES IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS ON ACCEPTANCE FEE FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced the opening of its portal for the payment of the prescribed Acceptance Fee for candidates offered provisional admission into the institution for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

According to the University Management, the acceptance fee payment portal opened on Monday, August 24, 2026.

All candidates who have been offered provisional admission are advised to take the necessary steps to secure their admission within the stipulated period.

CANDIDATES MUST ACCEPT ADMISSION ON JAMB CAPS

Candidates who have not yet accepted their admission offers are advised to do so as soon as possible through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

UNIBEN stated that accepting the admission offer on JAMB CAPS is a prerequisite for completing subsequent admission and registration processes at the University.

Candidates should therefore ensure that their admission status on JAMB CAPS has been properly accepted before proceeding with the University’s admission procedures.

HOW TO PAY UNIBEN ACCEPTANCE FEE

After accepting their admission on JAMB CAPS, candidates are required to log on to the University of Benin admission portal to confirm their admission status and proceed with payment of the prescribed Acceptance Fee.

Applicants are advised to carefully follow the instructions provided on the portal and ensure that payments are made only through the University’s approved payment platform.

ACCEPTANCE FEE PAYMENT DEADLINE

The University has fixed Monday, September 21, 2026, as the deadline for payment of the Acceptance Fee.

The deadline is exactly four weeks after the opening of the payment portal on August 24, 2026.

All admitted candidates are strongly advised to complete their payment before the deadline to avoid any complications.

FAILURE TO PAY MAY LEAD TO WITHDRAWAL OF ADMISSION

UNIBEN warned that failure to pay the Acceptance Fee within the stipulated period may lead to the withdrawal of the admission offer.

Candidates are therefore encouraged not to wait until the final day before completing the payment process.

After making payment, candidates should retain their payment receipts and other relevant documents, as these may be required during the subsequent clearance and registration exercises.

CANDIDATES ADVISED TO FOLLOW OFFICIAL UPDATES

The University also encouraged candidates to regularly monitor its official communication channels for authentic information and further updates regarding the admission, clearance and registration processes.
