PRECIOUS CORNERSTONE UNIVERSITY, IBADAN GETS NUC APPROVAL TO COMMENCE POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMME

Precious Cornerstone University (PCU), located in Ibadan, Oyo State, has attained yet another milestone in its academic journey, as the National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for the commencement of full-time postgraduate programmes in the institution. This remarkable development comes after a successful resource verification visit carried out by two separate NUC accreditation teams in May 2025, to assess the availability of adequate human and material resources required for effective postgraduate studies.

The newly approved postgraduate programmes include advanced academic and professional degrees in key disciplines. Specifically, the university will now offer:

• M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Microbiology

• M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Accounting

• M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Business Administration

• Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The Campusinfo Team reports that these programmes are designed to meet the growing demand for high-quality postgraduate education and research in the region and across Nigeria. With this approval, PCU is now positioned to play a more significant role in shaping the academic, professional, and leadership development of graduates in various fields of specialization.

In an official statement, gathered by the Campusinfo Team, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Timothy Olubisi Adejumo, conveyed his sincere appreciation to the NUC for the confidence reposed in the institution. He commended the efforts of the Dean of the Postgraduate School, Professor J.A. Adegoke, and all members of the Postgraduate Verification Committee for their unwavering dedication and commitment throughout the accreditation process. Prof. Adejumo also extended his gratitude to the University Management Team and the Governing Council for their continued support and encouragement.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the approval signifies a new dawn and academic elevation for the university, adding that it aligns with PCU’s mission of raising morally sound and academically excellent graduates who will impact society positively.
