FEDERAL UNIVERSITY, BIRNIN-KEBBI (FUBK) ANNOUNCES ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. M.Z. Umar, on behalf of the University Management, cordially invites the entire University Community, stakeholders, and members of the general public to the 11th Orientation Programme for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

This programme is a foundational event designed to formally welcome our newly admitted students and equip them with the essential knowledge, ethical guidelines, and academic strategies required to excel within the Federal University Birnin Kebbi.

I. EVENT SCHEDULE AND LOGISTICS

To ensure a structured and highly informative session, all participants are expected to adhere strictly to the following schedule:

• Date: Friday, 10th April 2026

• Time: 10:00 AM Prompt

• Venue: SLH 2 (Main Campus), Federal University Birnin Kebbi

II. MANDATORY ATTENDANCE FOR NEW STUDENTS

The Orientation Programme is a vital component of the university’s integration process. Consequently, the following directives apply:

1. Attendance Status: Attendance is STRICTLY MANDATORY for all fresh students across all faculties and departments.

2. Arrival Protocol: All newly admitted students must be arrived and seated within SLH 2 no later than 09:30 AM. Punctuality is required to ensure the orderly commencement of the formal briefings and the arrival of the Vice-Chancellor’s procession.

3. Registration of Attendance: Students may be required to sign attendance registers at the venue, which will serve as a formal record of their participation in the university’s induction process.

III. PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES AND HIGHLIGHTS

The orientation will feature expert presentations and interactive sessions from various university administrative units, covering:

• Academic Excellence: Understanding the CGPA system, course registration, and examination regulations.

• Campus Security: Briefings from the Security Unit on personal safety and the university’s “zero tolerance” policy for social vices.

• Health and Wellness: Introduction to the University Health Services and counseling resources.

• Library Resources: Guidelines on accessing physical and digital research materials to support academic growth.
