FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, EDE ISSUES IMPORTANT NOTICE ON PART-TIME STUDENTS REGISTRATION
The Office of the Admission Officer at the Federal Polytechnic Ede has formally issued a high-priority administrative circular addressed to all Heads of Departments (HODs) and Deans of Schools. This directive outlines mandatory registration and data validation protocols for all part-time students admitted for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.
This exercise is a statutory requirement aimed at regularizing the admission status of part-time candidates within the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) central database. Failure to comply with these procedures may result in the invalidation of a student’s academic records at the national level.
CORE DIRECTIVES FOR AFFECTED PART-TIME STUDENTS
The memorandum specifies two primary actions that must be completed by all part-time students to secure their institutional standing:
-
JAMB CBT Centre Registration: All affected students are required to visit any Accredited JAMB CBT Centre to formalize their part-time registration. This step is a prerequisite for the generation of official JAMB Admission Letters.
-
O’Level Result Re-upload: Candidates must ensure their O’Level results (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB) are successfully re-uploaded onto the JAMB CAPS portal. This ensures that the academic qualifications used for admission are verified and visible to the Board.
INSTITUTIONAL SCOPE AND PUBLICITY
To ensure total compliance across the polytechnic, the Admission Officer has urged HODs to give this memo the widest possible publicity. The circular has been distributed to a diverse array of departments, including but not limited to:
-
School of Applied Sciences: Department of Computer Science.
-
School of Engineering Technology: All Engineering Disciplines.
-
School of Business Studies: Department of Business Administration and others.
-
School of Environmental Studies: Department of Agricultural Technology and Estate Management.
Copies of this mandate have also been dispatched to the Deans of all Schools to monitor departmental compliance.
RATIONALE: WHY THIS PROCESS IS MANDATORY
-
National Recognition: Without a JAMB Admission Letter, a student is not recognized by the Federal Government as a legitimate student of the institution.
-
NYSC/Exemption Eligibility: Proper JAMB registration is the only pathway to being mobilized for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or receiving an Exemption Certificate upon graduation from the HND program.
-
Data Integrity: Re-uploading O’Level results prevents discrepancies during final graduation clearance and certificate processing stages.
URGENT NOTICE ON DEADLINES
While a specific closing date may vary by department, students are strongly advised to complete this regularization within two (2) weeks of this announcement. The Federal Polytechnic Ede management will not be held responsible for students who are unable to graduate or serve due to a lack of a valid JAMB admission record.
CONCLUSION: IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED
All newly admitted part-time students are urged to treat this directive with the utmost urgency. Students who already possess a JAMB registration number from a previous attempt but lack a part-time admission letter must still visit a CBT centre to rectify their status.
