AIR FORCE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, KADUNA (AFIT) ANNOUNCES RESUMPTION DATES FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

AIR FORCE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (AFIT)

Official Resumption Notice

2025/2026 First Semester Academic Session

The management of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) wishes to inform all undergraduate students—both new and returning—that school activities for the 2025/2026 First Semester Academic Session will soon begin.

This notice serves as a full guide to help every student prepare properly for resumption. Please read it carefully and follow all the instructions. The information below explains the resumption date, registration process, start of lectures, attendance requirements, and other important details to make sure you are fully ready for the new academic session.

1. Date of Resumption and Registration

Resumption Date for Registration: Monday, 15 September 2025

Who Should Resume: All undergraduate students—this includes fresh (newly admitted) students and all returning students.

Every undergraduate student is expected to be physically present on campus on or before this date. Registration for the First Semester begins immediately on the same day.

> Tip for Students:

Plan your travel early so that you can arrive before or on 15 September.

Make sure all required documents—admission letter, school fees payment evidence, course registration forms, and identification cards—are ready for smooth registration.

2. Start of Lectures

Date Lectures Begin: Monday, 29 September 2025

This date is for both new and returning students.

This means that lectures start exactly two weeks after registration begins. Students are strongly advised not to delay registration, because classes will start promptly.

3. Attendance Requirement

AFIT operates a mandatory attendance policy:

Minimum Attendance: 75% of all lectures and practical sessions.

Purpose: This is the minimum attendance required for every student to be eligible to sit for the end-of-semester examinations.

This rule applies to every course you register for. Failing to meet the 75% attendance requirement automatically disqualifies a student from writing the examinations for that course.

> Simple Example:

If a course has 20 lectures, you must attend at least 15 of them to meet the 75% requirement.

To avoid problems, make it a habit to attend classes regularly from the very first day of lectures on 29 September 2025.

4. Guidelines for New Students

Newly admitted students are especially advised to take note of the following:

Acceptance of Admission: Make sure you have accepted your admission offer on the JAMB portal (if applicable) and printed your JAMB admission letter.

School Fees: Pay your required fees before coming for physical registration to avoid delays.

Documents to Bring: Admission letter, JAMB result slip, birth certificate or age declaration, medical report (if required), and passport photographs.

Accommodation: Arrange your hostel or private accommodation in advance. AFIT usually provides guidance through the Student Affairs Division.

5. Guidelines for Returning Students

Returning students should:

Clear any outstanding fees from the previous session.

Update their course registration forms for the new semester online and print copies for departmental clearance.

Bring along their student ID card and any departmental clearance slips.

6. General Tips for All Students

Health and Safety: Make sure you are medically fit before travelling. If you have any medical conditions, inform the school clinic when you resume.

Travel Plans: Because the resumption falls on a Monday, plan your journey to avoid last-minute rush.

Discipline: AFIT is known for discipline and order. Students are expected to dress decently, respect staff, and comply with school rules at all times.

Academic Preparation: Buy or download required textbooks and materials early so you can start reading as soon as lectures begin.

7. Importance of Early Registration

Registering on time ensures that:

Your name appears on the official class and examination lists.

You avoid late registration penalties or surcharges.

You can select your courses without missing important departmental deadlines.

Late registration can cause unnecessary stress and may even stop you from sitting for exams.

8. About the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT)

The Air Force Institute of Technology, located in Kaduna, Nigeria, is a leading military and civilian tertiary institution offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. AFIT provides top-quality education in engineering, science, and technology, alongside strong discipline and character training.

9. Contact Information

For further enquiries or clarification about the resumption notice, students may contact the Registrar’s Office or visit the official AFIT website and student portal. Always use official school channels to avoid misinformation.

10. Final Reminder

Registration begins: Monday, 15 September 2025

Lectures begin: Monday, 29 September 2025

Minimum attendance to sit for exams: 75%

All students—new and returning—must comply strictly with these dates and requirements. Failure to adhere may result in missing important academic activities or being barred from examinations.

This notice is issued for the general awareness of all undergraduate students and is to be strictly followed.
