The Management of the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) hereby issues an urgent notification to all newly admitted postgraduate students, the university community, and the general public.
The Postgraduate Matriculation Ceremony, which was originally scheduled to take place today, Thursday, 9th April 2026, has been officially postponed. This decision was reached following a strategic administrative review to ensure that all logistical and ceremonial protocols are met with the highest academic standards.
I. DETAILS OF THE POSTPONEMENT
The university recognizes the significance of this induction ceremony for our advanced scholars. However, to accommodate essential academic adjustments, the following changes apply:
-
Original Date: Thursday, 9th April 2026 (Cancelled)
-
New Date: To be determined and communicated in due course.
-
Scope: This affects all incoming candidates for Postgraduate Diplomas (PGD), Masters (Academic and Professional), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programmes.
II. DIRECTIVES FOR NEWLY ADMITTED SCHOLARS
While the formal ceremony is on hold, students are expected to remain focused on their primary academic and administrative obligations:
-
Academic Continuity: This postponement does not impact the current lecture schedule or research seminars. All postgraduate classes, laboratory sessions, and supervisory consultations will proceed as scheduled in the 2025/2026 academic calendar.
-
Registration Finalization: Candidates who have not yet concluded their medical screenings, departmental clearances, or fee payments should utilize this window to ensure their records are fully regularized.
-
Gown Collection & Management: Students who have already collected their academic regalia must ensure they are kept in pristine condition. For those yet to collect, the process is temporarily suspended until the new date is ratified.
III. INFORMATION FOR GUESTS AND WELL-WISHERS
The University Management expresses its sincere regrets for any inconvenience this change may cause to parents, employers, and external guests who had planned to attend.
-
Travel Plans: Guests are advised to put all travel arrangements on hold until the new date is officially released.
