AMBROSE ALLI UNIVERSITY, EKPOMA (AAUE) GETS NUC APPROVAL FOR 13 NEW PROGRAMMES

The National Universities Commission (NUC) is pleased to inform all Nigerian Universities that the Commission has officially approved thirteen additional programmes to the Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS).

This development is part of NUC’s ongoing commitment to strengthen quality assurance, enhance academic standards, and align university education in Nigeria with global trends in emerging fields.

Experts drawn from the Nigerian University System were actively involved in developing 75% of the components of these new programmes in March 2025. Their efforts ensure that the curricula meet international benchmarks and equip graduates with the skills necessary to compete effectively in the global workforce.

The approval of these programmes reflects NUC’s dedication to providing innovative and relevant educational pathways, responding to the growing demands of industries and societal development.

Approved Programmes

The following new programmes have received NUC approval:

1. B.Sc. Artificial Intelligence – Addressing the growing demand for AI specialists in technology and research sectors.

2. B.Ed. Classical Christian Education – Focused on the study of Christian pedagogy and educational philosophy.

3. B.Ed. Human Kinetics (Sport Management) – Preparing graduates for careers in sports administration, fitness, and human performance management.

4. B.Eng. Geomatics Engineering – Combining engineering principles with geospatial technologies for mapping, surveying, and data analytics.

5. B.CHS. Community Health Science – Equipping students with knowledge to enhance community health systems and public health delivery.

6. B.Sc. Intelligence and Security Studies – Training professionals in national security, intelligence analysis, and strategic studies.

7. B.Sc. Islamic Economics and Finance – Focusing on Islamic banking, finance, and economic systems.

8. B.Sc. Parasitology and Entomology – Preparing students for careers in biological sciences, particularly in public health and agriculture.

9. B.Sc. Telecommunication Science – Addressing the expanding needs of the telecom and communication technology industries.

10. B.Sc. Water, Sanitation and Hygiene – Equipping students to tackle challenges in public health, sanitation, and water management.

11. B.Sc. Cooperative Economics and Management – Focused on cooperative societies, economic planning, and management of collective resources.

12. B.Sc. Nuclear Science – Preparing graduates for careers in nuclear research, energy production, and radiation sciences.

13. B.Eng. Nuclear Engineering – Focused on nuclear power, reactor design, and applications of nuclear technology in industry and research.
