The Senate, Management, and Staff of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Aliero (AFUSTA), Nigeria, take great pleasure in announcing the 18th Matriculation Ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. This milestone event serves as the official induction for all newly admitted undergraduate students, marking their formal transition into the academic and social community of this prestigious institution.

As a premier center for science and technology, AFUSTA remains committed to fostering an environment of innovation and excellence. This ceremony is not merely a tradition but a solemn commitment by our newest scholars to uphold the values and academic rigors of the university.

DETAILED SCHEDULE OF PROCEEDINGS

The university has finalized the following logistical arrangements to ensure a hitch-free and memorable event for students, parents, and distinguished guests:

  • Date: Wednesday, 8th April, 2026

  • Official Commencement: 10:00 AM Prompt

  • Ceremonial Venue: Multi-purpose Hall, AFUSTA Campus

  • Guest Arrival: All parents, guardians, and well-wishers are advised to arrive and be seated by 9:15 AM to avoid disruption of the academic procession.

COMPULSORY PROTOCOLS FOR MATRICULATING STUDENTS

To ensure full compliance with university statutes, all fresh undergraduate students must strictly adhere to the following directives:

  1. Acquisition of Academic Gowns: Matriculants are required to visit their respective Faculty Offices to collect their ceremonial gowns. Collection is contingent upon the presentation of a valid School Fee Payment Receipt and a completed Verification Form.

  2. The Academic Procession: Participation in the procession is a core part of the ceremony. All students must be lined up in their respective faculties by 9:30 AM. Latecomers will not be permitted to join the procession once the Vice-Chancellor’s party has commenced movement.

  3. The Matriculation Oath: This is the most critical segment of the day. Every student must publicly take the Oath of Allegiance, pledging to abide by the rules and regulations of AFUSTA.

  4. Signing of the Register: Immediately following the ceremony, students must return to their Faculty Officers to sign the Matriculation Register. Failure to sign this register means the student is not yet legally recognized by the University Senate.

ADMINISTRATIVE GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS AND GUESTS

AFUSTA warmly welcomes the families of our new students. To ensure a smooth experience for everyone:

  • Parking & Traffic: The University Security Unit will be directing traffic. Please use the designated Guest Parking Zones to prevent congestion near the Multi-purpose Hall.

  • Photography: While we celebrate this moment, professional photographers are restricted from entering the inner circle of the hall during the Vice-Chancellor’s address to maintain decorum.

  • Dress Code: As a formal academic event, guests are encouraged to dress in appropriate corporate or traditional attire.

A MESSAGE TO THE CLASS OF 2025/2026

The 18th Matriculation Ceremony is the beginning of a transformative journey. You have been selected from thousands of applicants because of your potential to contribute to the world of science and technology. We urge you to use this day to reflect on your goals and the impact you wish to make during your years at Abdullahi Fodio University.

CONCLUSION: AN INVITATION TO EXCELLENCE

The Management of AFUSTA looks forward to hosting all stakeholders at this auspicious occasion. Let us come together to celebrate the bright future of our new students as they embark on their quest for knowledge and innovation.
