LASU VICE-CHANCELLOR CONGRATULATES PROF. FRANCIS FADUYILE ON ONDO SOUTH SENATORIAL VICTORY

The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Distinguished Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola *OLATUNJI-BELLO*, mni, NPOM, has extended her warm congratulations to *Professor Francis FADUYILE* on his emergence as the *winner of the Ondo South Senatorial District by-election* conducted on *Saturday, 20th June 2026*.

Professor *FADUYILE*, a Professor of Pathology and Forensic Medicine at the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) and Consultant Pathologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), was declared the winner of the election after polling 68,474 votes to secure a resounding victory across the district. His return was announced by the Returning Officer, Professor Gbenga *IBILEYE*, at the collation centre in Okitipupa Local Government Area.

Describing the victory as well deserved, Professor *OLATUNJI-BELLO* noted that Professor *FADUYILE* has distinguished himself over the years through exemplary service in academia, medicine, professional leadership, and public service.

A former National President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Professor *FADUYILE* has made significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare, medical education, and policy development in Nigeria. He also previously served as a Special Adviser to the Governor of Ondo State, where he brought his wealth of professional experience to governance and public administration.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence that Professor *FADUYILE* would bring the same commitment, integrity, and excellence that have characterised his professional career to his new responsibility as a Senator representing the people of Ondo South Senatorial District.

She wished him a successful and impactful tenure in service to his constituents and the nation at large.
