KHALIFA ISYAKU RABIU UNIVERSITY, KANO (KHAIRUN) RELEASES NEW POLICY ON TUITION FEES PAYMENT AND SETTLEMENT OF OUTSTANDING BALANCES
The Management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), through a special bulletin has released an official policy directive regarding the payment of tuition fees and the settlement of outstanding financial balances for all students, parents, and guardians.
While acknowledging prevailing economic challenges and the flexibility exercised over the past three academic sessions, management stressed that timely fee payment remains essential to sustaining quality teaching, student support services, facilities, and academic delivery. Consequently, the university has approved specific regulatory measures effective for the 2026/2027 academic session.
APPROVED POLICY MEASURES FOR FEE SETTLEMENT
Students and sponsors are required to comply strictly with the following structured guidelines:
* Settlement of Outstanding Balances: All students with outstanding financial balances from the 2023/2024, 2024/2025, and 2025/2026 academic sessions are mandated to clear their balances completely before completing registration for the 2026/2027 academic session.
* Full Payment of 2026/2027 Fees: All students are expected to pay 100% of their approved chargeable fees for the 2026/2027 academic session, and parents are advised to plan accordingly to ensure prompt payment.
* First-Semester Examination Requirement: Students who have not paid at least 50% of their total chargeable fees for the 2026/2027 academic session will not be permitted to sit for the first-semester examinations.
* Second-Semester Examination Requirement: Students who have not paid 100% of their total chargeable fees for the 2026/2027 academic session will not be permitted to sit for the second-semester examinations.
ADMINISTRATIVE CLARIFICATIONS AND COMPASSIONATE ARRANGEMENTS
Management emphasizes that these enforcement measures are designed to promote financial discipline and maintain institutional quality rather than to penalize students.
The university will continue to consider reasonable and compassionate arrangements for genuine cases of financial hardship under approved procedures, while students are encouraged to engage sponsors early.
The bulletin was signed by Bilal Dahiru Tijjani, Director of Corporate Affairs and Marketing, on behalf of the Management.
