LEAD CITY UNIVERSITY, IBADAN ANNOUNCES 22ND MATRICULATION CEREMONY


Congratulations on your admission! The Lead City University (LCU), Ibadan, is thrilled to formally welcome you into our academic community. The 22nd Matriculation Ceremony is a significant milestone—it is the moment you officially transition from being a “candidate” to a “bonafide student” of this prestigious institution.

To ensure a smooth and memorable experience, the university management has organized the ceremony by faculty. Please read the schedule below carefully to find your specific time and date.


The Ceremony Schedule: When and Where?

All ceremonies will take place within the respective Faculty areas on the university campus.

  • Dates: Monday, 26th January & Wednesday, 28th January, 2026.

  • General Time Frame: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.


Day 1: Monday, 26th January 2026

The first day is dedicated to our medical, health, and natural science students.

First Session: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

  • Faculty of Basic Medical and Health Sciences.

Second Session: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

  • Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences.

  • Faculty of Clinical Sciences.

  • Faculty of Dentistry.

  • Faculty of Natural & Applied Sciences.


Day 2: Wednesday, 28th January 2026

The second day covers management, social sciences, engineering, and the humanities.

First Session: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

  • Faculty of Management and Social Sciences.

  • Faculty of Engineering.

  • Faculty of Pharmacy.

Second Session: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

  • Faculty of Environmental Design and Management.

  • Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences.

  • Faculty of Arts.

  • Faculty of Education.

  • Faculty of Law.


Essential Steps for Every Matriculant

To participate fully in this ceremony, there are a few things you must do beforehand:

  1. Collect Your Academic Gown: Visit your respective Faculty Office a few days before the event (typically the Friday before the ceremony starts) to collect your matriculation gown.

  2. Dress Code: Lead City University takes pride in professional and modest dressing. Ensure you adhere to the University Dress Code underneath your gown.

  3. Arrival: Be seated at your faculty venue at least 15 minutes before your session begins. The academic procession starts promptly.

  4. The Matriculation Oath: During the ceremony, you will stand to take the official oath. This is your formal promise to uphold the values and regulations of the university.

  5. Signing the Register: After the ceremony, you will be required to sign the Matriculation Register. This is the official document that records your entry into the university.
