Essential Steps for Every Matriculant

To participate fully in this ceremony, there are a few things you must do beforehand:

  1. Collect Your Academic Gown: Visit your respective Faculty Office a few days before the event (typically the Friday before the ceremony starts) to collect your matriculation gown.

  2. Dress Code: Lead City University takes pride in professional and modest dressing. Ensure you adhere to the University Dress Code underneath your gown.

  3. Arrival: Be seated at your faculty venue at least 15 minutes before your session begins. The academic procession starts promptly.

  4. The Matriculation Oath: During the ceremony, you will stand to take the official oath. This is your formal promise to uphold the values and regulations of the university.

  5. Signing the Register: After the ceremony, you will be required to sign the Matriculation Register. This is the official document that records your entry into the university.

Why Matriculation Matters

Matriculation is more than just wearing a gown and taking photos. It is a legal and academic rite of passage.

  • Official Enrollment: It is the “Gateway to University Life.” By signing the register, your name is placed on the “Matricula” (the roll of members).

  • Identity: You officially embrace your identity as a Lead City student, gaining all the rights, privileges, and responsibilities that come with it.

  • Commitment: It represents your commitment to personal growth and academic excellence over the next few years.
