2025 NNPC – SNEPCo National University Scholarship Programme

Do you want to get help with paying for school? Do you dream of finishing university without stressing about money for fees or books? If yes, then keep reading.

The Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), together with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited and their partners, have something exciting for you!

They are now accepting applications for the 2025 NNPC – SNEPCo National University Scholarship Programme. This scholarship is for brilliant Nigerian students who are already in their second year of study at public universities in Nigeria.

This programme wants to reward hard work, support smart students, and help young Nigerians succeed. If you’re a serious student and meet all the rules, you can apply and maybe become one of the lucky winners.

Let’s explain everything you need to know in very simple terms.

📌 What Is This Scholarship About?

This scholarship is all about helping Nigerian students who are doing well in school but need financial support. It is not a loan—you don’t have to pay it back.

If you win the scholarship:

  • You’ll get money every year to support your studies.

  • This support continues from your second year in school until you graduate (as long as you keep doing well).

  • You can use the money for your school fees, books, and other needs.

This scholarship programme is meant to:

  • Encourage academic excellence (that means helping students who get good grades).

  • Support students from different states across Nigeria.

  • Help more young Nigerians become professionals and leaders in the future.

✅ Who Can Apply?

Before you apply, you need to make sure you meet the requirements. These are the eligibility rules:

  1. You must be a Nigerian citizen.
This means you were born in Nigeria and you live here.

  2. You must be in your second year at a Nigerian public university.
That means you have already completed your first year (100 level) and are now in 200 level.

  3. You must be a full-time student.
You must attend classes regularly and not be studying part-time.

  4. Your course must be NUC-accredited.
You must be studying a course that is officially approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Most popular courses are approved, like Engineering, Medicine, Accounting, etc.

  5. You must have at least a 3.5 CGPA on a 5.0 scale.
This means your grades should be very good. If your school uses a different grade system, you can ask them what your CGPA means.

  6. You must not already be on any other oil and gas scholarship.
If you are receiving money from another company in the oil and gas sector, you cannot apply.

Female students are especially encouraged to apply!
That’s right—this scholarship wants more girls in school, so if you’re a female student and you meet the criteria, please apply.

🎯 Selection Process: How They Choose the Winners

Here’s how SNEPCo will select who gets the scholarship:

  1. Application must be submitted before the deadline.
No late applications will be accepted.

  2. Applications must be submitted online only.
No emails or paper forms will be allowed.

  3. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
All qualified applicants will be invited to write an online test. It will be a monitored computer-based test, so you can’t cheat.

  4. Top 10 from each state
From the test, the top 10 students from each of the 36 states and the FCT will be chosen for academic document checks.

  5. Document verification
If your documents are fake or your results are not real, you will be disqualified immediately.

  6. Final award
Only the students who pass both the test and the document check will get the scholarship.

  7. Maintain good grades
If you win, you must continue to have at least 3.5 CGPA every year to keep the scholarship until you graduate.
