UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT (UNIPORT) RELEASES REVISED ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR THE 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

This is to inform all students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) that the school management has released the revised academic calendar for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Academic Session Full-time and Sandwich Programme of the University as follows;

First Semester Break

​Monday, 4th – Friday, 15th May 2026: First Semester Break (2 weeks).

​Wednesday, 27th May 2026: Extra-Ordinary Meeting of Senate to consider First Semester 2025/2026 session results.

​Second Semester 2024/2025 & 2025/2026 Sessions

​May – October 2026: Student Industrial Work Scheme (SIWES).

​Sunday, 17th May 2026: Arrival of all students.

​Monday, 18th May – Friday, 14th August 2026: 13 weeks of academic activities.

​Monday, 18th May 2026: Lectures begin for all students.

​Friday, 19th June 2026: Deadline for payment of second installment charges.

​Friday, 26th June 2026: End of registration for second installment payment.

​Friday, 14th August 2026: End of Lectures.

​Friday, 16th August 2026: Submission of Continuous Assessment scores to Academic Office.

​Monday, 17th – Saturday, 22nd August 2026: SUG Week (1 week).

​Monday, 24th – Friday, 28th August 2026: Revision (1 week).

​Monday, 31st August – Friday, 25th September 2026: Second Semester Examinations (4 weeks).

​Monday, 28th September – Friday, 30th October 2026: Long vacation for all students (5 weeks).

​Wednesday, 4th November 2026: Extra-Ordinary Meeting of Senate to consider Second Semester 2025/2026 session results.

​Sandwich Programme

​Monday, 6th – Friday, 10th July 2026:

​Fresh and returning students arrive and registration begins.

​Students resume (Contact with Student Affairs).

​Orientation for fresh students.

​Monday, 13th July – Friday, 11th September 2026: 9 weeks of lectures.

​Monday, 13th July 2026: Lectures begin for all students.

​Friday, 4th September 2026: Submission of Continuous Assessment scores to Academic Office.

​Friday, 11th September 2026: End of Lectures.

​Monday, 14th – Friday, 18th September 2026: Revision (1 week).

​Monday, 21st – Saturday, 26th September 2026: Examinations for all Sandwich students (1 week).

​Wednesday, 29th October 2026: Extra-Ordinary Meeting of Senate to consider Sandwich Programme 2025 results.
