UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT (UNIPORT) ACE-PUTOR ANNOUNCES POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Africa Centre of Excellence in Public Health and Toxicological Research (ACE-PUTOR) at the University of Port Harcourt has officially opened its admission portal for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for the under listed programmes administered in Africa Centre of Excellence in Public Health and Toxicological Research (ACE-PUTOR):

Available Programmes

The center offers a variety of specialized tracks across three postgraduate levels, all accredited by the National Universities Commission and the Royal Society of Biology:

Ph.D. & M.Sc. Options: Public Health, Environment Health, Environmental Toxicology, Nutritional Biochemistry/Toxicology (Ph.D. only), Midwifery, Child Health Nursing, and Public Health Nursing.

M.Sc. Exclusive: Fertility Nursing, Environmental Petroleum Toxicology, One Health & Disease Modeling, and Quality, Leadership and Innovation in Health care.

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD): Nursing and Environmental Petroleum Toxicology.

Admission Requirements

Prospective students must meet the following academic standards:

PGD: An HND with upper credits in a related discipline. Candidates on a career shift require a first degree in an appropriate major with at least a Second Class Lower Grade.

M.Sc.: A BSc degree in appropriate majors with at least a Second Class Lower Grade.

Ph.D.: A completed MSc degree in appropriate majors with a CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale.

Nursing Applicants: Must possess requisite licenses from their professional bodies.

Programme Duration

PGD/M.Sc.: Full-time (12 months) or Part-time (24 months).

Ph.D.: Full-time (36 months) or Part-time (48 months).

Interested applicants should submit their completed application forms, reference letters, statement of purpose, and relevant credentials by Friday, 17th July, 2026.

The Centre also noted that limited scholarships are available for qualified candidates.
