UNIVERSITY OF OFFA (UNIOFFA) GETS NUC’S APPROVAL FOR 4 NEW HEALTH-RELATED PROGRAMMES
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the commencement of four new health-related programmes at the University of Offa (UNIOFFA), Kwara State, beginning from the 2026/2027 academic session.
The newly approved programmes are:
- Nursing Science
- Medical Laboratory Science
- Doctor of Physiotherapy
- Community Health
According to a statement issued by the university, the approval followed a successful resource verification exercise conducted by a delegation from the NUC in April 2026.
The institution disclosed that the approval was formally conveyed in a letter dated June 16, 2026, signed by the NUC Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar M. Girei.
Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Kazeem Alagbe Gbolagade, described the approval as a major milestone and commended the university’s founder, governing council, management, staff, students, and stakeholders for their contributions.
He noted that the achievement reflects the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, and continuous investment in both human and physical resources.
The Vice-Chancellor also reassured prospective students and parents of the university’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards and producing skilled professionals capable of competing globally.
