The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Distance Learning Institute (DLI) has officially commenced the sale of application forms for admission into its undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates seeking admission through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. The programme is designed to provide flexible, technology-driven education for individuals who wish to earn a University of Lagos degree while balancing work, business, or other commitments.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the following conditions before applying:

• Possess a minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
• Candidates applying for Year Two admission must possess any of the following:
  • NCE
  • ND (Minimum of Lower Credit)
  • JUPEB
  • IJMB
  • GCE A’Level or equivalent qualifications in relevant subjects.
• Applicants seeking Year Three admission must possess:
  • HND (Minimum of Lower Credit), or
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum of Third Class), along with evidence of NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate.
• Candidates with recognized professional qualifications such as ICAN ACA, ACIB, ANAN, ACCA, ACMA, ACS, CIBN, or ANACI may also be considered for admission into appropriate programmes.
• Applicants awaiting O’Level results are not eligible to apply.
• Candidates must be at least 16 years old by October 31, 2026.

No Post-UTME Examination

The University has announced that there will be no Post-UTME examination for applicants seeking admission into the Distance Learning Institute.

Admission will be based on meeting the prescribed entry requirements and successful completion of the application process.

Application Fee

The application fee is:

₦20,000 (Twenty Thousand Naira) only

How to Apply

The admission process consists of two stages.

Stage One – UNILAG Application

Applicants should:

1. Visit the UNILAG application portal.
2. Click on “Start Fresh Application.”
3. Select Distance Learning Institute as the application type.
4. Fill in the required information, including:
   • Surname
   • First Name
   • Middle Name
   • JAMB Registration Number
   • Mobile Number
   • Email Address
5. Pay the application fee of ₦20,000 online or print the payment advice for payment at any commercial bank.
6. Return to the application portal after payment.
7. Complete the online application form.
8. Upload all required documents.
9. Submit the application and print a copy for future reference.

Stage Two – JAMB Registration

Applicants are also required to:

• Register on the JAMB CAPS Portal.
• Pay the prescribed JAMB registration fee of ₦3,500 to obtain a JAMB Registration Number.

Application Deadline

The University has announced that all completed online applications must be submitted on or before December 31, 2026.

Applicants are advised to complete their registration well before the deadline to avoid last-minute challenges.
