UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN (UNILORIN) RELEASES ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION
The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Ilorin, Nigeria, has released its proposed academic calendar for the 2026/2027 academic session for undergraduate students.
The calendar outlines key academic activities for both fresh and returning students, including registration, lectures, continuous assessments, examinations, semester breaks, result processing and the commencement of the 2027/2028 academic session.
According to the calendar dated Monday, September 21, 2026, the 2026/2027 academic session is scheduled to commence on Monday, October 5, 2026.

KEY DATES FOR STUDENTS
The new academic session will officially commence on Monday, October 5, 2026, while registration for new and returning students is scheduled to run from October 5 to October 16, 2026.
Late registration will follow from October 19 to October 23, 2026, while lectures for the Harmattan Semester are scheduled to begin on October 19, 2026.
The Harmattan Semester lectures are expected to end on January 22, 2027, followed by a lecture-free week from January 25 to January 29, 2027.
Harmattan Semester examinations are scheduled to commence on February 1, 2027, and end on February 26, 2027.
The Rain Semester is scheduled to commence on March 15, 2027, with lectures ending on June 18, 2027. Rain Semester examinations are expected to begin on June 28, 2027, and end on July 23, 2027.
END OF SESSION AND NEXT ACADEMIC SESSION
The 2026/2027 academic session is scheduled to reach its concluding stages in September 2027, with the Special Senate consideration of Goodstanding Results and the end-of-session break scheduled for Monday, September 6, 2027.
The university is also scheduled to commence the 2027/2028 academic session on Monday, October 5, 2027, with the resumption of new students scheduled for the same date.
LECTURE-FREE PERIOD FOR SPORTS ACTIVITIES
The university also noted that Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. are designated as lecture-free periods for sports activities.
