UNIVERSITY OF BENIN (UNIBEN) RELEASES PART-TIME DEGREE, DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE ADMISSION FORM FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The management of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its Part-Time Degree, Diploma and Certificate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

According to the University, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the listed undergraduate programmes for the part-time studies.

Interested candidates are advised to carefully review the available programmes and admission requirements before commencing their applications.

AVAILABLE PART-TIME UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

The following programmes are available for the 2026/2027 academic session:

2. B.A. Mass Communication
3. B.A. (Ed) Adult Education
4. B.Sc. (Ed) Guidance and Counselling
5. B.Sc. (Ed) Health Education
6. B.Sc. (Ed) Educational Management

8. B.Sc. (Ed) Industrial Technical Education
9. B.Sc. Accounting
10. B.Sc. Banking and Finance
11. B.Sc. Industrial Physics

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Applications for the University of Benin 2026/2027 Part-Time programmes are to be completed online.

The application portal is scheduled to open from 7:00 a.m. on 1st September 2026 and will close at 12:00 midnight on 30th November 2026.

Interested candidates should follow the steps below:

Step 1: Obtain a JAMB Part-Time Registration Number

Candidates are required to visit any JAMB-approved CBT Centre to register as a Part-Time Candidate.

After registration, candidates will obtain a JAMB Registration Number, which is required for the UNIBEN application.

Step 2: Visit the UNIBEN Website

Candidates should visit the University of Benin website:

University of Benin Official Website

Select Student Portal, then proceed to the Part-Time Studies Application link.

Step 3: Select Part-Time Studies Application

Click on PART-TIME STUDIES APPLICATIONS 2026/2027.

Then click on Register for Application at the top left corner of the displayed page.

Step 4: Create an Account

Provide all the required information on the registration page.

Candidates should note that fields marked with an asterisk (*) are compulsory.

A time-limited email containing the candidate’s system-generated ID and password will be sent to the email address provided.

Candidates are advised to use a valid personal email account and not the email address of a cyber café.

Step 5: Login

Open the email received from the University and obtain the generated login details.

Click on Login at the top right corner of the application page and enter the username and password provided.

Step 6: Complete the Application

To begin the application, click on Edit Application Record.

Candidates should provide all required information and upload their passport photograph.

The passport photograph must meet the following specifications:

• 1″ × 1″
• Coloured
• Red background
• JPEG format

The University stated that the photograph uploaded will serve as the only valid identification photograph for admitted candidates throughout their stay at the University of Benin.

Candidates are therefore advised to upload the correct photograph as failure to upload the specified passport photograph may result in disqualification and forfeiture of admission.

APPLICATION FEE

To make payment, candidates should click on Add Online Payment Ticket at the bottom of the application page.

Then click on Pay with Remita at the top left corner and follow the payment instructions.

The application fee is ₦22,500.

Payment can be made using an ATM-enabled Verve or MasterCard from any commercial bank.

Candidates are advised to carefully preview and confirm all information provided before submitting the application.

Please note that the application cannot be edited after submission.

After submission, candidates should print the application slip for their records.

IMPORTANT JAMB REQUIREMENT

The University of Benin stated that no application for admission shall be valid without a JAMB Registration Number.

Candidates are therefore required to obtain their JAMB Part-Time Registration Number before completing the UNIBEN application.

SCREENING AND ADMISSION

According to the University, candidates may not be required to sit for an entrance examination.

However, screening will be conducted based on the candidates’ O’Level, JUPEB or Diploma results, as applicable.

Candidates are advised to return to the University portal two weeks after the application deadline to check their admission status.

CLOSING DATE

The application website will close on 30th November 2026.

All candidates are expected to complete and submit their applications online on or before the closing date.

Late applications may not be considered.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates seeking admission into the various part-time degree programmes must satisfy the general University admission requirements as well as the specific faculty admission requirements for their chosen programmes.

The University stated that the applicable general and specific admission requirements are available on its official website.

Candidates are advised to carefully check the requirements for their chosen programme before submitting their applications.
