PETER UNIVERSITY GETS NUC APPROVAL FOR MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE, RADIOGRAPHY, PHYSIOTHERAPY, AI, DATA SCIENCE AND 7 OTHER PROGRAMMES
Peter University, Achina/Onneh, has received official approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence admissions into 11 newly approved undergraduate programmes, further expanding its academic offerings for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The approval followed a successful resource verification exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission, which confirmed that the University has satisfied the required academic, staffing, and infrastructural standards for the newly introduced programmes.
Newly Approved Programmes
The National Universities Commission has approved the following programmes:
- Medical Laboratory Science
- Radiography
- Physiotherapy
- Human Anatomy
- Human Physiology
- Data Science
- Artificial Intelligence
- Social Work
- Psychology
- Public Administration
- Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE)

Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor of Peter University, Rev. Fr. Prof. Chukwuemenam Umezinwa, described the approval as another major milestone in the University’s mission to provide quality education and produce highly skilled graduates capable of meeting national and global demands.

2026/2027 Admission Now Ongoing
With the approval of the new programmes, Peter University has invited suitably qualified candidates to apply for admission into the 2026/2027 academic session.
