NURSING & MIDWIFERY COUNCIL OF NIGERIA (NMCN) RELEASES PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION RESULT FOR SEPTEMBER 2026

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) has announced the release of the results of the September 2026 Professional Examination in Midwifery.

The results were approved during the Council’s 63rd General Meeting held in September 2026 and announced in a statement dated September 14, 2026.

According to the Council, a total of 9,544 candidates were successful, representing an overall average pass rate of 84%.

BREAKDOWN OF THE RESULTS

The results were distributed across the three categories of the Professional Examination in Midwifery as follows:

  • Post-Basic Midwifery: 3,133 candidates successful, representing a 97% pass rate.
  • Basic Midwifery: 5,446 candidates successful, representing an 80% pass rate.
  • Community Midwifery: 965 candidates successful, representing a 74% pass rate.

HOW TO CHECK THE SEPTEMBER 2026 MIDWIFERY RESULTS

Heads of nursing training institutions have been directed by the Council to check their institutions’ examination results online through the Council’s application portal.

Successful candidates are also required to proceed to the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria portal to commence their online registration and licensing process.

90-DAY REGISTRATION DEADLINE

The Council stated that successful candidates must complete their online registration formalities, including payment of the required registration fees, within 90 days from the date the results were released.

Candidates who fail to complete the registration process within the stipulated 90-day period will be required to pay a late registration penalty of ₦16,250 per applicant.

Successful candidates are therefore advised to begin their registration process early and ensure that all requirements are completed within the approved period.

NEXT PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION IN MIDWIFERY

The NMCN has also announced the date for the next Professional Examination in Midwifery.

The examination is scheduled to hold from:

Tuesday, March 9 to Friday, March 12, 2027.

Candidates preparing for the next examination are advised to take note of the announced dates and await further instructions from the Council.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria congratulated all candidates who were successful in the September 2026 Professional Examination in Midwifery and wished them success in their future professional endeavours.

All candidates are advised to rely on official NMCN channels for further information concerning results, registration, licensing and subsequent examinations.
