NIGERIAN ARMY UNIVERSITY, BIU ANNOUNCES MATRICULATION CEREMONY

here is big, exciting news for everyone at the university! The school leaders have finished making the plans for a very special day. This is the day when all the new students—called fresh students—officially join the university family. This event is called the Matriculation Ceremony, and it is like a grand “welcome home” party for your brains!

If you are a new student, this is a day you will remember forever. You will wear a fancy robe, walk with your friends, and make a promise to be the best student you can be. Here is everything you need to know about where to go, what time to wake up, and what you must do before the big day arrives.

When and Where is the Big Event?

The university has chosen a very large space so that everyone—students, teachers, and parents—can fit comfortably. Instead of a small classroom, we are moving the party outside to the fresh air!

  • The Date: Monday, 16th February 2026

  • The Time: 8:30 a.m. (This is when the music and excitement start!)

  • The Place: The University Temporary Site, specifically on the Football Pitch.

Since the event is on a football pitch, there will be plenty of room for everyone. Just look for the big tents and the people wearing colorful gowns!

The Grand Parade: How the Morning Works

A matriculation ceremony is not like a normal meeting; it follows a very special tradition called a procession. This is basically a very slow, proud parade where people walk in groups.

First, all the students need to find their friends from the same Faculty (that is the big group for your course, like Science, Arts, or Engineering). You should meet near the football pitch early in the morning.

At 8:40 a.m., the student parade begins! You will walk together into the venue to find your seats. Then, at 9:00 a.m. sharp, the “Big Bosses” of the school—the Senate and Congregation—will walk in. This is a very serious and happy moment, so everyone should be in their seats by then.

The Most Important Step: Don’t Forget the Portal!

Before you can put on your gown and join the parade, the school needs to make sure you are officially “on the list.” To be on the list, you must finish your registration.

Think of registration like signing up for a team. If you don’t sign up, you can’t play in the game! You must go to the university website and finish all your paperwork and payments.

Pay Attention: The computer portal for registration will CLOSE on Friday, 30th January 2026.

If you miss this date, you might not be allowed to join the matriculation ceremony. That would be like missing your own birthday party! Make sure you sit down at a computer and finish everything before that Friday arrives.

Tips for a Perfect Matriculation Day

To make sure your day goes perfectly, here are some simple tips for every new student:

  1. Be Early: 8:30 a.m. is when it starts, but the best students arrive even earlier to find their Faculty group.

  2. Wear Your Gown: You will look like a real scholar in your academic robe. Make sure it is clean and neat.

  3. Charge Your Camera: Your family will want to take 1,000 pictures of you! Make sure your phone or camera is ready to go.

  4. Listen to the Leaders: When the teachers tell you where to walk, follow their directions so the parade looks beautiful.

This ceremony is the start of your journey to becoming a doctor, an engineer, a teacher, or a leader. We are so proud of you for getting into the university, and we can’t wait to see you on the football pitch on February 16th!
