The management of the Nigerian Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, Delta State, wishes to inform the general public that applications are now officially open for admission into the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This programme is an excellent opportunity for students who dream of gaining Direct Entry admission into 200-level undergraduate programmes at NMU or other participating universities in Nigeria. The JUPEB Programme serves as a solid foundation that prepares students academically and mentally for university life, focusing on their chosen fields of study.

About the NMU JUPEB Programme

The JUPEB programme is a one-year intensive academic course designed for candidates who wish to secure direct entry into university degree programmes without having to go through the UTME (JAMB) route. At the end of the programme, successful students will sit for the JUPEB Advanced Level (A’ Level) examinations in three subjects that are relevant to their intended university courses.

The programme equips students with both theoretical and practical knowledge, developing their study skills, discipline, and confidence needed to excel in higher education. After completing the JUPEB programme and passing the A’ Level examinations, students can apply for Direct Entry admission (200 Level) into NMU or any other JUPEB-affiliated institution across Nigeria.

Available Subject Combinations

Candidates will receive intensive lectures and training in the following subject areas depending on their field of interest:

1. ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE SUBJECTS

  • Biology / Geography

  • Chemistry

  • Mathematics

  • Physics

These subjects are ideal for students who are passionate about science, innovation, and technology and are looking to pursue a career in engineering, environmental sciences, or maritime studies.

2. TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS SUBJECTS

  • Economics

  • Geography

  • Mathematics

This subject combination is specially designed for candidates interested in the transportation, logistics, maritime management, and economic sectors. Students in this category will gain analytical, problem-solving, and management skills that are relevant to global transport and logistics industries.

Upon successful completion of the JUPEB programme, candidates who meet the required performance standards can apply for Direct Entry admission into 200 Level of any of the following degree programmes at the Nigerian Maritime University:

A. FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

  • Civil Engineering

  • Electrical Engineering
