COMMUNIQUE -RESOLUTION SESSION WITH RESPECT TO THE NAOSS CRISIS; HELD 22ND OF JUNE, 2020 IN ALAGBAKA, AKURE.

In light of recent happenings in the leadership of the National Association of Ondo State Students, we deemed it pertinent to mediate and chart a path to find a common ground between the aggrieved parties in the association. Therefore, we invited concerned parties for a roundtable discussion to address core issues and seek a way forward.

The meeting which was convened by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Students Affairs; Hon. Muyiwa Ogunyemi and moderated by Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation (North), Mr Adebiyi Mayowa, had in attendance representatives from the two aggrieved parties and other important government officials like Prince Dapo Adepoju, Gbologe Olufunmi Alex the Special Assistant on Youth Mobilization (Central and South).

Highlights / major resolutions agreed upon in the meeting are as stated below:

The resolutions of the last meeting that all parties agreed to on the 28th of May, 2020 subsist.

We preached and interceded for peace among all parties and they agreed to settle their differences and work together in the interest of progress of the state.

As resolved and agreed upon by representatives of both parties present, Comrade Kikiowo Ayoade remains the President of the National Association of Ondo State students (NAOSS). Therefore, the State Government thus respect the joint agreement.

We enjoin all relevant arms of the government to recognize and respect this decision while according the president and the association as a whole all necessary support.

Hon. Muyiwa Ogunyemi,
Senior Special Assistant on Youth and Students Affairs.
