The Lagos State University (LASU) has approved the academic calendar for the 2026/2027 academic session, outlining the schedule for resumption, registration, lectures, examinations, result processing and other major academic activities.

The calendar was approved by the University Senate on behalf of the institution, with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo, communicating the approved schedule to the university community.

The academic session will be divided into two semesters, with the first semester commencing in October 2026 and the second semester running from March to July 2027.

LASU 2026/2027 FIRST SEMESTER ACADEMIC CALENDAR

Resumption, Registration and Orientation

Date: Friday, October 2 – Friday, October 23, 2026
Duration: Three weeks

The first semester will begin with the resumption, registration and orientation of newly admitted students.

New students are expected to complete the required registration processes and participate in the orientation activities scheduled by the university.

Lectures for Returning and New Students

Date: Monday, October 26, 2026 – Friday, January 15, 2027
Duration: 12 weeks

Lectures for both returning and newly admitted students will commence on Monday, October 26, 2026.

The lecture period will run until Friday, January 15, 2027, and will include the recognised holidays during the period, including Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year celebrations.

Late Registration

Date: Monday, January 11 – Friday, January 15, 2027
Duration: One week

Students who fail to complete their registration within the stipulated period will have an opportunity to complete late registration, subject to the payment of a ₦10,000 penalty fee.

First Semester Revision

Date: Monday, January 18 – Friday, January 22, 2027
Duration: One week

A one-week revision period will be held before the commencement of the first semester examinations.

First Semester Examination

Date: Monday, January 25 – Friday, February 12, 2027
Duration: Three weeks

The first semester examinations are scheduled to take place over a three-week period beginning on Monday, January 25, 2027.

Students are expected to prepare adequately and comply with all examination guidelines issued by their respective faculties and departments.

Grading and Uploading of Results

Date: Monday, February 15 – Friday, February 26, 2027
Duration: Two weeks

Following the completion of the examinations, the university will commence the grading and uploading of students’ results.

Departmental and Faculty Consideration of Results

Date: Monday, March 1 – Friday, March 5, 2027
Duration: One week

Departments and faculties will consider the results, upload necessary corrections and participate in the ICT processing of results.

Senate Consideration of Results

Date: Monday, March 8 – Friday, March 12, 2027
Duration: One week

The University Senate will meet to consider the first semester results during this period.

End of First Semester Break

Date: Monday, March 15 – Friday, March 19, 2027
Duration: One week

The first semester will officially conclude with a one-week end-of-semester break.

LASU 2026/2027 SECOND SEMESTER ACADEMIC CALENDAR

Resumption, Registration and Lectures

Date: Monday, March 22 – Friday, May 28, 2027
Duration: 10 weeks

The second semester will commence on Monday, March 22, 2027, with resumption, registration and lectures for students from 100 Level to 500 Level.

Academic activities during this period will continue until Friday, May 28, 2027.

Second Semester Revision

Date: Monday, May 31 – Friday, June 4, 2027
Duration: One week

Students will have a one-week revision period ahead of the second semester examinations.

Second Semester Examination

Date: Monday, June 7 – Friday, June 25, 2027
Duration: Three weeks

The second semester examinations are scheduled to commence on Monday, June 7, 2027, and end on Friday, June 25, 2027.

Grading and Uploading of Results

Date: Monday, June 28 – Friday, July 9, 2027
Duration: Two weeks

The university will proceed with the grading and uploading of second semester results immediately after the examinations.

Departmental and Faculty Consideration of Results

Date: Monday, July 12 – Friday, July 16, 2027
Duration: One week

Departments and faculties will consider the results, upload corrections where necessary and complete the required ICT processing.

Senate Meeting for Consideration of Results

Date: Monday, July 19 – Friday, July 23, 2027
Duration: One week

The University Senate will meet to consider the second semester results during this period.

End of Academic Session Break

Date: Monday, July 26 – Friday, July 30, 2027
Duration: One week

The academic activities outlined in the calendar will conclude with an end-of-semester break from July 26 to July 30, 2027.
