LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY, OJO (LASU) RELEASES DIRECT ENTRY ADMISSION SCREENING FORM FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Online Admission Screening Exercise for Direct Entry (DE) candidates seeking admission into the university’s regular undergraduate programmes.

The university stated that participation in the online screening exercise is mandatory for all eligible Direct Entry candidates who wish to be considered for admission for the 2026/2027 academic session.

ELIGIBILITY FOR LASU DIRECT ENTRY SCREENING

According to the university, the screening is open to:

  • All Direct Entry candidates who obtained the 2026 JAMB Direct Entry Form and selected LASU as their first-choice institution.
  • LASU Foundation (JUPEB) candidates seeking admission through Direct Entry.
  • Direct Entry candidates who possess the required qualifications for their chosen programmes.

LASU further stated that only LASU Diploma qualifications are acceptable for Direct Entry admission, except NCE qualifications for Faculty of Education programmes.

Candidates of Lagos State origin who have previously validated their indigene claims through the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) will have their claims automatically validated during the online screening.

LASU 2026/2027 DIRECT ENTRY AVAILABLE COURSES

Eligible candidates can apply for approved programmes across various faculties and schools, including:

Faculty of Arts: Arabic, Christian Religious Studies, English, French, History & International Studies, Islamic Studies, Linguistics, Music, Peace Studies, Philosophy, Portuguese/English, Theatre Arts and Yoruba.

Faculty of Communication and Media Studies: Mass Communication.

Faculty of Education: Arabic Education, Biology Education, Business Education, Chemistry Education, Computer Science Education, Early Childhood Education, Educational Management, English Education, Guidance and Counselling, Mathematics Education, Physics Education, Political Science Education, Special Education, Technology and Vocational Education, Yoruba Education and other listed programmes.

Faculty of Engineering: Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Faculty of Environmental Sciences: Architecture, Building, Estate Management, Environmental Management, Fine Arts, Industrial Design, Surveying and Geo-Informatics, Quantity Surveying, and Urban and Regional Planning.

Faculty of Law: Common/Civil Law and Common/Islamic Law.

Faculty of Management Sciences: Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management, Insurance, Management Technology, Marketing, Public Administration, Taxation and other listed programmes.

Faculty of Science: Biochemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Fisheries and Aquatic Biology, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, Science Laboratory Technology and Zoology.

Faculty of Social Sciences: Economics, Geography and Planning, Political Science, Sociology and Psychology.

College of Medicine: Dentistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Physiology, Physiotherapy, and Radiography and Radiation Science.

Faculty of Computing and Information Technology: Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Science, Information and Communication Technology, and Software Engineering.

Other available programmes include courses under the School of Agriculture, School of Library, Archival and Information Science, and School of Transport and Logistics.

LASU DIRECT ENTRY SCREENING REQUIREMENTS

Candidates are required to provide their personal information and relevant academic records during the online self-screening process.

The university stated that candidates must possess five O’Level credit passes in relevant subjects at not more than two sittings, except for Medicine and Dentistry, which require O’Level results from one sitting only.

Candidates applying for Engineering programmes with two O’Level sittings must have six relevant credits, including:

  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • English Language
  • Two other Science subjects
  • One other subject

For Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering, a credit pass in Further Mathematics is also required.

LASU emphasized that English Language is compulsory for admission into all courses.

Candidates are also required to upload their O’Level results to JAMB CAPS before the closure of the screening exercise.

The university added that examinations taken after July 2026 will not be accepted.

HOW TO APPLY FOR LASU 2026/2027 DE SCREENING

Candidates are expected to complete the registration online through the LASU admission screening portal.

The procedure is as follows:

  1. Visit the LASU website.
  2. Go to Student → New Applicants.
  3. Click on UTME/DE Screening.
  4. Select DE Candidate Login.
  5. Enter your JAMB Registration Number and Surname.
  6. Click Submit.
  7. Click on Make Payment (Admission Screening).
  8. Provide the required JAMB Registration Number.
  9. Select Admission Screening Fee as the payment description.
  10. Select Ojo as campus and Student as category.
  11. Complete the payment.
  12. Return to the dashboard and click Start Admission Screening.
  13. Select the appropriate Mode of Entry.
  14. Enter the Transaction ID used for payment.
  15. Complete the online self-screening form.
  16. Carefully select your preferred course of study.
  17. Provide the required O’Level information.
  18. Preview all information supplied.
  19. Tick the “I Certify” option and submit the form.
  20. After successful completion, download the Screening Report from the screening homepage.

Candidates who need to make corrections or change their course of study may be required to make additional payments for subsequent screening attempts or corrections.

DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES TO SUBMIT SCREENING DOCUMENTS

LASU directed all Direct Entry candidates to submit a copy of their Online Admission Screening Report and notification of Diploma (LASU Diploma)/NCE Result at the Admission Annex/Liaison Office, Room 7, Administrative Block II.

LASU DIRECT ENTRY SCREENING GRADING SYSTEM

The university stated that the screening exercise will be conducted using a Point Grading System.

The grading will be based on the candidate’s UTME score and SSCE or equivalent grades in five best relevant subjects according to the candidate’s chosen course.

Candidates have been advised to consult the 2026 JAMB Brochure to confirm the required O’Level subjects for their chosen programmes before completing the screening.

LASU DIRECT ENTRY SCREENING DEADLINE

The LASU 2026/2027 Direct Entry online admission screening exercise will run for two weeks.

Commencement: Saturday, 12 September 2026
Closing Date: Saturday, 26 September 2026
Deadline: 12:00 midnight

Candidates are advised not to wait until the deadline before completing their registration.

All complaints relating to the online screening should be directed to [email protected].

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO LASU DE CANDIDATES

Direct Entry candidates should ensure that the information supplied during screening is accurate, as LASU stated that its screening decision will be based only on the information submitted by the candidate.

Candidates should also ensure that their O’Level results have been properly uploaded to JAMB CAPS and that their chosen course matches their qualifications and relevant subject requirements.

The 2026/2027 LASU Direct Entry Online Admission Screening Exercise commenced on 12 September 2026 and closes on 26 September 2026 by 12 midnight.

Candidates seeking admission through Direct Entry are therefore encouraged to complete the process within the stipulated period.
