LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY, [LASU] CALLS FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS GRANT COMPETITION FOR STUDENTS

Students of Lagos State University are hereby invited to apply for Young Entrepreneurs Grant (YEG) Competition designed to offer grants of $500 (N250,000) and above to young entrepreneurs in selected institutions across Nigeria.

The competition, organised by Building Young Entrepreneurs (BYE), owners of Pitchonly.com, alongside its partners, requires interested students to upload a video pitch of their idea, product or business on *www.pitchonly.com* for selection.

Based on the entry submission, a number of applicants will be selected to pitch live to investors in a virtual session for possible funding, while a few others will be selected to compete for the grant in a final in-person pitch battle at the grand finale.

*Timeline of the Competition*

*March:* Commencement of video pitch submission

*April:* Submission of video pitch ends

*May:* Screening and selection of top pitch commences

*June:* Screening and selection of top pitch ends

*July:* List of live pitch candidates released, and virtual live pitch begins

*August:* Virtual live pitch continues

*September:* Virtual live pitch ends and list of candidates released

*October/November:* Final in-person event and presentation of grants to winners.

Apart from standing the chance to win the prize money, applicants’ videos will be made available on the *www.pichonly.com* platform to be viewed by a large collection of top investors and the general public for possible funding.
