The University Management is pleased to inform all staff, students, and the wider university community that the academic calendar for the Second Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Session has been finalized and approved. Following the successful completion of the first semester examinations and the subsequent inter-semester break, the institution is now set to commence the second half of the academic year.

Students are expected to adhere strictly to the dates outlined below to ensure a smooth transition into the new semester.

Official Resumption Schedule

The resumption of the university will occur in two phases: the physical reopening of the campus and halls of residence, followed by the formal commencement of lectures and departmental activities.

Important Instructions for Students

In preparation for the new semester, all students—both fresh and returning—are required to take note of the following directives to ensure they are fully compliant with university regulations.

1. Arrival and Accommodation

Halls of residence will be open for students’ return starting from the morning of Friday, February 27, 2026. Students are advised to arrive within daylight hours for security reasons. Upon arrival, students should ensure they have their valid university identification cards and evidence of accommodation payment for the 2025/2026 session, as these will be verified at the point of entry into the hostels.

2. Course Registration

The online registration portal for the second semester will be active starting from the first day of academic activities, Monday, March 2, 2026. Students must:

  • Consult with their Departmental Course Advisers to ensure they are selecting the correct core and elective courses.

  • Complete the registration within the first two weeks to avoid the payment of late registration fees.

  • Print out at least three copies of their Course Registration Forms and ensure they are duly signed and stamped by the Head of Department and Faculty Officer.

3. Financial Obligations

All students who have outstanding balances from the first semester or who opted for installment payment plans must settle their second-semester charges before they can access the registration portal. Please note that the “No Payment, No Registration” policy remains strictly in force.

Information for Staff and Faculty

All academic and non-academic staff are expected to be at their duty posts by the resumption date. Faculty Boards are directed to ensure that lecture timetables are finalized and displayed on departmental notice boards before Monday morning.

Lecturers are reminded that attendance at lectures is mandatory and the university’s 75% attendance rule for eligibility for final examinations will be strictly enforced from the very first week of the semester.

A Note on Campus Safety and Conduct

As we return for the second semester, the university security unit wishes to remind all students of the existing code of conduct. Students are expected to maintain a high level of discipline, avoid any association with unregistered groups or cult activities, and adhere to the university’s dress code policy.

The Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the Senate and the Governing Council, welcomes all students back to campus and wishes the entire university community a productive and successful second semester.
